By all accounts hotel has you more than covered. Guest can imagine more than a few screenplays were pitched around the pool. Today palm springs is a destination for meetings and events more than ever seducing planners with 350 days of sunshine a year and abundant golf shopping and desert curiosities. 2.5 star ratingsize of the room, room and bathroom refurbished.while the rooms were ok (except a big dead cockroach in one corner, apparently undetected by the maid), the rest of the hotel is abominable. To get to a room on the upper floor you either use an elevator which we couldn't find at all, or you have to use a staircase which a) is almost equally hard to find, b) looks worse than the emergency exit in a normal hotel would, c) is covered with a decades-old carpet and d) smells like it (no air condition, and we had over 110° F). The corridors to the rooms, while air-conditioned, smell and look equally horrible. Once you get to your room it's better. Guests bring pets, so be prepared for some yowling in your neighbouring room and some odd smells. The pool area is surrounded by an iron fence (as in most motel-like places), and the doors to this fence close very loud. We were there on a weekend and had an open-air film showing at the pool at night and very loud music at the pool during the day (not many people there to enjoy these, though). We changed to a room facing the parking lot which was much better. Maybe it was because we expected something else, but I would never book this hotel again. 4.5 star ratingThe decor was interesting and the staff were very professional.Even with all the remodeling the buidling is just too old and the fact that there was no elevator near the lobby was bad. The pool was too small for the amount of people staying at the hotel. Although it was just remodeled we would not stay there again as we would prefer to stay at a place where we can get a fighting chance at a pool chair. 09 May 2012
3.0 star ratingFront staff as great.Ordering cocktails at the pool took too long. My room was cleaned but forgot to leave clean towels and the bed was ok. I was able to hear people walking and talking thoughtout the night. My room experience was definitely not relaxing. I probably won't recommend or stay at this hotel again. Mario 30 May 2012
