Hotel Information

Kapiolani Park lies in front of the family-friendly beach hotel and is recognised as one of Hawaii's finest recreational parks. Honolulu Zoo is also only a 1 minute walk from the historical hotel and so is Waikiki Beach. This is a moderate, non-smoking accommodation with 315 units. The decor recaptures the personality of the 19th century Hawaiian monarchy, combining regal charm and character with contemporary comfort. All rooms offer the comforts of home, and are provided with individually adjustable air conditioning and an en-suite bathroom. Guests can take advantage of the tea/coffee facilities and in-room Internet access, or relax on the sun loungers laid by the on-site swimming pool. Parking and a garage are available for those arriving by car.

3.0 star rating The hotel was close to the beach. It had a nice pool, but it was only open till 6:30 pm. Overall not to bad. We had to pay for parking,we found roaches in the room, and the staff already knew about them.12 February 2011
4.0 star ratingI thought the overall quality of the Queen Kapiolani was very good. The location was excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful, the pool area and restaurant was very nice, and the lobby area provided us with our needs.I can't say there was anything negative about the hotel. The room was small but adequate for our needs. We did wait 50 minutes for a taxi one evening but the bell desk called the company 3 times so I can't fault the hotel or the staff.Laura lee23 February 2011
4.0 star ratingThe pool area and the restaurant are really nice. Actually all public areas (lobby, pool,....) are very nice!Compared to the public areas the room itself could have been better.12 October 2011

3.5 star ratingOur upgraded room was terrific ! 2 double beds ! storage space We were unimpressed by our room when we checked in . Room had 2 single beds no storage space no lanai and no room to swing a cat!!! Very unhappy that this is considered a double standard room .We had to pay for an upgrade! :(16 March 2013
5.0 star ratingThe staff were lovely and very helpful. 3pm check in is quite late when flying overnight from Australia without sleep, suggest taking an extra night before so you can go straight to a room as we fell asleep in the lobby by 2pm and were awfully jetlagged - no fault of hotel, just a suggestion to flyers from down under. Only negative comment is our room was corner room and whole of one side was entirely loover windows wind howled constantly through them when closed and road noise was very loud even though we were on floor second from top. I wore ear plugs to get around this :-) Jules04 June 2013

3.0 star ratingNice Clean hotel. It was a confortable room. The bathrooms were a bit dated, and the bed was small; double. The customer service was apalling!!! The first night, we arrived at midnight, however they couldn't find our reservation and made us pay for the room again even though WE had the proof with us. The following day when i asked a question about when we could expect our refund now that our reservation was found, the clerk cut me off mid-sentence. Finally after she said what she wanted and was thus ready to listen to my question, she then Turned to me to ask what my question had been. Several staff members repeatedly walked off mid-enquiry without any mention as to why. I have Never come across such rude behaviour!! 07 September 2013
4.0 star ratingRoom was small, but I didn't expect much more for the price in Waikiki. I just needed a place to sleep for the night and it worked well.I didn't experience any of the negatives I've read about this hotel. It was fine.Stan09 September 2013

5.0 star ratingGreat value for money and nice, big room. Really happy with our stay here and enjoyed the free wifi and fridge for personal use in the room (very helpful). Thanks :)Only thing I can fault is the computers in the lobby, you have to pay a small fortune to use a computer that is as slow as dial up!18 September 2013
3.0 star ratingthe hotel service is not so good, even the towel had a dark spot on it. Also they should refine their bathroom component, the washstand looks like it will crash some time.ben22 October 2013

4.5 star ratingGreat location and fantastic view from pool deck of Diamond Head. Very clean and tidy rooms and friendly and helpful staff. When I booked the hotel the website advertised that they had a restaurant and live shows. This was one of the reasons I chose this hotel. When we arrived we found out the restaurant and shows were no longer available so this was a bit disappointing. Anonymous 18 January 2014

2.5 star ratingLocation CleanOld and tired hotel, very overpriced for the quality of rooms. Avoid room 421 if possible, it is literally like a dungeon. The window looks out to the roof below so absolutely no views. Anonymous 03 November 2015
3.0 star ratingConvenient location, reasonable price, view from room was fantastic which was excellent as balcony out of use. Didn't replace shampoo and condition after day 1.Charl14 June 2017
