4.5 star ratingAfter we refused the room given to us ( a smoke room with hardly any seaview), the staff did their utmost to please us en made us very happy with a beautiful situated room the next day for the rest of our stay. It was our second stay in this hotel and we certainly plan to come again. The hotel is perfectly situated, it is clean, gardens well kept and the staff is friendly.Hans07 February 2012
3.5 star ratingGreat location, very close to the beach and promenade. very quiet at night and rooms were very clean and comfortable. maids cleaned rooms every day and towels were changed daily. Reception is very poor. never enough staff to cope with the amount of people in the hotel. there was always a queue. not enough info given about door pass cards, (ie dont keep them in close proximity to mobile phones, as this wipes the access to rooms from the cards.) 12 May 2012

3.0 star ratingWe spent twelve nights on our honeymoon at the Hotel Dorado full board in October 2013. On the second day we up graded to the All inclusive as we thought we would make use of all the booze that this lets you have- upgrade cost €13.60 per person (not bad if you wanted as much drink as you like outside of meal times- but we did not make full use of if as we got sick of being around the hotel every day and evening drinking). variety of beers and sprits were good- as they served local and non local alcohol i.e bottles of Heineken, jameson, gordons gin etc We saw lots of people in wheel chairs and seemed to be able to get around quite easily with all the ramps- this I thought was a great positive about the hotel and they have to be commended for this. There was an indoor swimming pool, jacussi, sauna, steam room and the outside swimming pools- all well kept and maintained. The whole place was well kept with cleaners and maintenance people visible day and night. Waiting staff in the restaurant were friendly and attentive, chefs in restaurant were not.As mentioned earlier I said we stayed for twelve nights for honeymoon in October 2013. In my booking (in the comment box) I had asked for a bottle of champagne to be left in the room for a surprise for my wife. When we got to our room late in the evening/night there was no champagne. I went down to the reception and asked the receptionist where was our champagne. He was not being apologetic or nice about it and he said that we could not get any champagne unless we paid in advance, now after spending €1500 a bottle of champagne was the least I thought we could get even if I did have to pay for it on our bill afterwards. I wouldn't put any special requests in the comment box when booking the hotel online as they obviously do not read the comments/requests left by the guest. It seemed like you had to be a deluxe paying guest to get even a smile from the staff. Oh by the you do get a glass of cheep champagne (plonk) on arrival if you are a deluxe guest but not on your honeymoon. Cocktails were very poor quality and not well made- definitely would not pay €5.30 or €7.00 euro for these if we were not all inclusive, as you can get proper cocktails down the strip for the same price and cheaper. All in all reception staff were not good but maybe sometimes restricted by the hotel polices. Food although we though good at the start got repetitive and a change of scenery required after three days (again all inclusive was a waste on us). Hotel did not did not do packed lunches for day trips. Although we did make use of all inclusive now and again, but definitely did not drink or eat our moneys worth. Staff at the bars were ok. They did not speak much English and could not have fun with them much. They were often slow and did not know who to serve next. I didn't think that this was a four star hotel but 3*.15 October 2013
4.5 star ratingVery clean Great location, mid way between Marina and main town, easy, flat walk along the seafront. Staff work very had, hotel was fully booked and you could tell they were under pressure but did it with a smile and drinks brought promptly to table, Atlantic bar service, fast and efficient. Great sea view from room, watched the ferries but you do overlook a car park if you are not deluxe. Il Divo style entertainment very good, professional and a good crowd pleaser, shame pool was being played at the same time and bar service noisy. Lunch choices much better / varied than dinner. Wellness centre if weather is inclement or you want a spa, treatment, lane swimming. Out door pool was heated which is not that common in the canaries and despite it being very hot weather the heated pool was lovely. Welcome drink on arrival, nice touch. If returning to resort I would go back as great value, just need some tweaks and it would be a fab hotel. Not enough staff working in the hotel pool bar/restaurant. It is the only place you can get a drink/food before 1230 so it is very busy. Everything has to be signed for even if on all inclusive so can be slow getting drinks/food. Queuing to access restaurant, mainly due to staff turning around tables for service, they work hard but each waiter covers a large number of tables. Slow to replenish food at breakfast/dinner. Gala dinner on Saturday night not that special, chose to eat in that night, could be made much better, just a sangria whilst queuing for restaurant was the only difference. Lamb and Prawns not replenished for 45 mins and by then had eaten, only had a starter and cheese. Lots of paperwork at check-in could be done in a simpler way, you have to ask about pool towels, safe, not explained to you on arrival. Anonymous 15 March 2017
