2.5 star ratingHelpfulness of the staff was very mixed. Reception staff and the some of the staff at the restaurants were dismissive and rude. However, the bellboy, the cleaners and the Tourist information desk were extremely friendly and went out of there to help with everything I asked about.20 March 2011

3.5 star ratingAr condicionado muito ruidoso, impeditivo de conciliar o sono, candeiros e lâmpadas que não funcionam, falta de iluminação na habitação, a nossa reclamação ou queixa de não funcionamento dos candeiros não foi atendida. Do ar condicionado não apresentamos queixa, por saber que o problema está no mau funcionamento dos equipamentos , e a sua degradação pois carecem de manutenção, reparação e até de sustituição por novos quando é necesário. O problemas nos equipamentos do hotel influencia negativamente o conforto no servicio prestado no hotel e a sua qualidade.07 October 2013

4.5 star ratingVery friendly and helpful staff, even saved us some money on their own initiative. Actually closer to the beach than many large hotels that claim to be directly on the beach. Also wery easy to vary the "all inclusive" with other places and restauraants, since it is in the villige of VaraderoGenerally try to stay close to native Cuban food, it is a tropical country so the cooking of meat is not always what one is used to. If you got favorite spices, bring them with, the food is rather blend, at least to a Swede. Although it has nothing to do with the hotel itself, stick to the yellow state taxis until you know what the cost should be. It also saves on the enviroment. And, if you are booking yourself from Europe, stay away from London and Canadian Air, especially in combination. It did cost us to days in airports, instead of on the beach!Swedish family06 January 2014

3.5 star ratingspacious rooms, very close to the beach, bar by the beach, shows every evening, table drink service when eating in a restaurant, variety of meat every day (pork, beef,chicken),fish. helpful reception managerhorrible, expensive, useless, not worth internet access no general welcoming information given when checking in, just paper sheet given no farewell when checking out, not even 'bye, thank you' constant lack of towels, 1 small towel given for 2 people, not changed every day, had to go to reception and ask for them almost every day room was not being cleaned every day. the bed sheet was folded every day but wasn't fresh. bed sheets were the same for 8 days. the same desserts for 8 days- very sponge based and monotonousuk01 March 2014

2.5 star ratingIn first room the ac made a loud noise all night, so they gave us a new room next day. They tried to fix the ac and the guy who came to try was very nice serviceminded. Staff at frontdesk also helpful and nice about the whole deal. The room var ok, but part of the upper part on one of the beds was broken so half of it was 10cm lower, my fiance slept in that one, he sleeps well on anything obviously. We did not bother to complain about it mainly because we did not want to change rooms yet again. The hotel itself was a bit of a construction site while we were there..we wish someone had told us that when booking or at least given us a discount. I guess their high season is just about to start so they were painting the outside of the hotel and it looked like floor two and three was totally closed off for renovation. Good for them I guess :-) We actually did not think this was a big deal, our housekeeper Mariella on floor five was a supernice lady that came every day and always put oit two toilet rolls of airpaper so we never ran out, 10 points to her. Frontdesk was also very helpful every time we spoke. Request a room with balcony. From what we could tell there should have been a couple of more resturants/bars in the all inclusive offer, but like I said, high season is about to start there so the people booking after this probably will have total offer.The food was not great, but this was the case in quite a few places in Cuba so we did not fuzz about that either. They had an egg making guy in the breakfast buffet every day so we had breakfast here most days. It was hard to find any other better breakfast anyway. The coffee in the lobby bar had a sour taste to it for a couple of days, but the probably cleaned it a little so it got better, or we got used to it...Im not sure. My fiance had his phone stolen in the lobby. Drinks was made with whatever juice they had left...but again, this is Cuba and most of the time they will be out of something. Music by the pool was insainly loud most of the time. Pool needs to be kept cleaner...also area around pool. Toilet by pool and by elevators had no paper the whole time we were there, but were discusting anyway so we never used them. The above mentioned renovation process also resulted in two guys sanding the entrancedoors to the buffet resturant during dinnerhours one day, we laughed but its clearly not the optimal way to go about it :-D We enjoyed our stay because we adapt and ate dinner elsewhere every day. Most staff was nice though, and it is one of the cheaper hotels in the area so I guess you get what you paid for in that way :-) Anonymous 02 December 2014
4.0 star ratingRooms where clean and nice, shower was good. Most of the recepetion staff is friendly. I read a lot of bad reviews, however, it was all above expectations.The food at lunch and dinner was never warm. Almost all times there was no cutlery on the tables and no glasses for drinks. When you asked for it, the staff responded not friendly at all, when waiting for the cutler the food became cold already, which was really making me a bad mood for that attidude, they should understand we pay their salary, without guests no job.Mike25 March 2017
