3.0 star ratingReception/bar area was nice and very clean Mackay Inverness14 July 2010
3.5 star ratinghelpful the hotel was advertised as having a fully equipped ggym and swimming pool, this is untrue as it was closed some months ago by health and safety (as I was informed by a member of staff), this was one of the main reasons I chose this hotel. very dissapointed that it was advertised as this facility had been closed for over 7 months. 21 September 2010

4.0 star ratingExcellent value for money. To be able to stay so close to Glasgow city centre at this very reasonable rate was brilliant. Room a little tired but adequate as it had a kettle for making a cuppa, tv and good hot shower. 30 November 2010
4.0 star ratingBreakfast was great, clean room, good value for money.Thin wall, can hear "what are the neighbours up to" specially in the night. Old furniture.14 February 2012
2.0 star ratingOur time was completely ruined, by what can only be described as Irish hooligans who were over for the old firm game on the Sunday, their behaviour was completely unacceptable. At approx 5 25 I contacted the night porter regarding the excessive noise coming from the adjacent rooms, the occupants were requested to keep the noise down which lasted about 5 minutes. At 6 am I again contacted the porter and told him get the noise sorted or I am calling the police, we did get about 2 hours sleep. I felt the hotel had no regard whatsoever for the other guests in the hotel. However I was disgusted with the manager who offered me a third reduction on my hotel bill, after some discussion I refused to pay, as I required to register my credit card on arrival I will be watching what if any charges are made against my card and should this be the case as I did not authorise this transaction I will have no hesitation in taking action against the hotel for an unathorised transaction. 2.5 star ratingThe room looked it needed a splash of paint but it was clean enough. Nothing else good to sayWhere do i start. The hotel needs to be renovated. The telly was something that Philips stopped making in 1900s. Worst part is that the room we got was right next to the lift. We were unable to sleep due to the lift noise. This was the case till 4am. The noise started again at 6am. Rubbish night for a hotel this size. Also we stayed on a Friday night. The hotel has a bar and drunk folk made alot of noise coming up to their rooms. All in all we would not recommend this hotel. Even after complaining and asked to email for a refund have received no response. ASalik06 May 2013
4.0 star ratingWhen we arrived the toilet in our room didn't flush but we were quickly allocated another room, although unfortunately it had a double bed rather than the twin beds I'd requested. However, it was fine. It was lovely to have "natives" as staff and extremely refreshing. The staff were extremely helpful, providing maps we could use to find our into and out of the city. I would definitely stay there again. We thought there was wi-fi in the hotel, but there wasn't. On the website, it seemed that there are 2 Swallow hotels in Glasgow although they both had the same postcode so we decided there aren't. However, as we were leaving we went to get fuel and saw a sign for a Swallow Hotel near the petrol station so perhaps there are two and perhaps the other one has wi-fi and the swimming pool as ours was closed. I would have liked more light in the breakfast area of the restaurant as it was very dark and hard to see the food clearly.27 April 2013
3.0 star ratingRooms seemed like they were freshly painted Asked for scrambled eggs at staff went and got them Staff were friendlyBathrooms needing updated, cracked tiles, showers not on wall safely, grout and sealant needing replaced Rooms were ridicously dark....No lights in rooms, apart from a couple of side lamps Tv's were from the 70's Very noisy due to a wedding being on downstairs Had drunk people knocking on door at 3.30am Although rooms were painted, there was paint on the carpets, walls and surrounding wood Beds uncomfortable Blu11 June 2013

2.5 star ratingthe cleaning staff were really friendly and helpful - they went out of their to say hello and help when we asked for directions, where to go, transport links, etc - they also gave us very valuable advice on where to go and where to avoid. Breakfast was very nice, and there was a good choice of different options. Staff were attentive in there. On arrival at the hotel, the receptionist wouldn't accept our booking invoice/receipt that we had from hotelopia, which clearly stated the price agreed when we made the booking - they insisted we paid a higher price. This resulted in numerous phone calls to try and sort it out. Hotelopia were very helpful, however, Swallow Hotel were not, and it took 2 days until they agreed the price that we had booked through hotelopia! When we got to the room, we thought the key was broken, because when we'd unlocked the door, it wouldn't open by merely pushing with our hands, and we had to 'shoulder-barge' the door to open it. The room smelt musty, decor was very dated, there were damp patches, a hairball on the carpet, mould around loose tiles in the bathroom, and very noticeable handprints above the headboard of the bed. 26 August 2013
3.5 star ratingBreakfast brilliant and of good quality Receptionist on arrival was superb and very helpful Room was sub standard on arrival however the receptionist was most helpful in fibding us another room Rooms could do with upgrading 25 August 2013
4.5 star ratingFor travellers with transport this is an ideal budget stopover venue for flights to and from Glasgow Airport. The buffet style fried breakfast provided generous quantities of warm but not hot, average quality food remeniscent of school dinners - this was offset however by the excellent, attentive whilst unobtrusive staff.Andy19 September 2013
5.0 star ratingRoom was very dark with no light on ceiling just lamps beside bed and one on desk. Room was too dark to read in at night.trudy21 September 2013
3.5 star ratingHelpful friendly staff. Good value for money considering it was during the Commonwealth Games. We would not have booked the hotel if we'd seen the exterior first! In dire need of being spruced up and the rubbish around the back of the car park looked awful. The interior also looked tired and could do with some refurbishment. Although the food was fine there was a very limited choice.Anonymous 03 August 2014
