The Generator hostel is a fantastic place to stay for anybody wishing to explore Berlin, located in an up and coming district in former East Berlin and less then 10 minutes by tram to Alexanderplatz. Offering excellent value for money, guests will be impressed by the size of the rooms, modern decoration and warm welcome. Although the rooms without facilities do not have a shower or toilet amenities are situated on the same floor and are maintained to a high standard. The Generator bar is the ideal place to relax at the end of a long day of sightseeing or having a few drinks before a night out on the town. The hostel has a lounge area, The Turbine, disabled access and a business centre. (Guests booking a double room should note that these rooms consist of twin bedding.) Guests should note that local city tax is not included in the rate booked. This will be charged directly to guests by the hotel and payable at check in.

4.5 star ratingOutstanding as ever, it offers real value for money. It is no frills but clean, comfortable, reliable and safe. It is also extremely handily placed on public transport links for the city centre and airports. Highly recommended I've stayed there 3 times now and it is my venue of choice for value in the city.None. Any comments we made were dealt with instantly e.g. leaking pipe fixed within 10 minutes when mentioned. I even got a full refund when a hot drinks vendor ate my Euro coin without giving me a drink!NellColson28 December 2009
