4.0 star ratinggood location, friendly staff, cleanquality of bed was bad, the rooms need some renovation03 January 2009
5.0 star ratingThe hotel was central to downtown Toronto so great location in lovely city. Hotel was elegent and welcoming. There were only two paper mugs provided everyday for the coffee machine. This made it more annoying to make drinks later in the day as it was difficult to wash them out. The room needs ceramic cups or a lot more paper ones.08 October 2009

1.0 star ratingGood locationRequested a non-smoking room when I booked, when I checked in it was an extra $60 more per night! Room was filthy with stains on carpets and walls. When we checked out, I was charged $52 parking which was never communicated to me. Overall, it is the worst 4 stars I have ever seen. At best, I think it should be a 3 star hotel. Will never stay here again!06 July 2011

4.5 star ratingEnjoyed our stay here. Bed very comfortable and hotel very quiet at night while we were there. Only a coffee maker supplied but we were straight away given a kettle when requested. Heater not working but fixed very quickly. Hotel in very good location, handy for subway and streetcars.Very little wardrobe/drawer space. We were there for 10 days but had to leave some clothes in suitcase. Breakfast expensive and poor value. We went to Tim Horten's every day, just around the corner.Happy traveller.25 October 2011

4.0 star ratingOffer for higher/lower floor; provided a view of downtown Toronto including CN Tower at no extra cost. Breakfast expensive; opted for a more fairly priced alternative from somewhere nearbyStu13 May 2012
4.0 star ratingThe concierge was really helpful and recommended a car to the airport to save money etc. The cleaners came every morning at 8am which seemed a little early. We had to make sure to leave the sign on the door to avoid being woken up every morning. 06 June 2012

2.5 star ratingI used to stay at this hotel years ago and it was a fabulous hotel....definitely worthy of the 4 star rating. I was disappointed and shocked at the current state of it. It's quite dirty (carpets, baseboard, walls) and has a very musty smell, despite the rooms being cleaned on a regular basis. The staff at the bar seemed inconvenienced that we were there and the bar nuts were so stale that they were inedible. We were originally put on a smoking floor in a smoking room (despite indicating an allergy to smoke) and the staff tried to convince us that you could not smell the smoke. It was like walking into a bar at 4am....with years of smoke seeping through the walls. Thankfully the hotel is being made into a Doubletree at some point. Until such time, I would not recommend this hotel at all. Sad to see what was once a great hotel weathered by age and neglect. But then again, as my friend said "Yeah, I used to be a 4 star ten year's ago also" :) 29 September 2013
3.0 star ratingBed and room very comfortable :)The hotel gives an overall 'lush' impression but some features let it down like the bathroom which was rather scummy to be honest. The receptionust was a bit snotty when we checked in!!! 12 October 2013
3.0 star ratingVery outdated. The current were dirty. Stains everywhere. Even when the maid cleaned she kept the dirty sheets on the bed. 09 November 2013
4.0 star ratingConvenience of the hotel to the downtown was really good. We walked to the ACC in approximately 15 minutes. The hotel is under renovations so there were messy areas. The parking garage is a pain, too few spots and difficult to navigate with a larger vehicle. The room was dated, i.e. torn sheers and spots on the curtains.05 November 2013
5.0 star ratingI've stayed at the Metropolitan for 6 nights. The room was clean and it had everything I've needed (mineral water and coffee are provided). I've had a problem with the internet and when it was not solved I was given another upgraded room. The staff was very helpful and nice, especially Jinam at the front desk, who really helped. When I'm next time in Toronto I'll probably try to book this hotel first (if the price is right). David22 November 2013
5.0 star ratingThe Staff at Metropolitan Hotel Toronto did not hesitate to spend the extra time with us to share their knowledge or information on great places to dine and also the entertainment available to us within walking distance. The Staff was very helpful to us.01 December 2013
