4.5 star ratingAn ideal location within easy walking distance of the town centre. General ambiance, quality of rooms, breakfast etc', first class. A good night's sleep is always a bonus and the hotel's leafy surroundings guaranteed this. Our room at front of hotel was ideal. Staff generally went out of their to be helpful.No major concerns but the replenishing of room provisions was variable ( body wash and bottled water for example) and we would have liked to have had a choice of teas.27 September 2013
4.0 star ratingThe breakfast was superb with an excellent choice, all well cooked and piping hot.The evening meal (in the bar) unfortunately was sub-standard with items missing and some of the food cold. The room's heater appeared to be linked to a motion detector. Consequently, despite turning the heat up when we first entered the room, the room was cold again when we returned from eating our evening meal.Anonymous 25 February 2014

1.5 star ratingThe manager and reception staff sorted my refund and compensation quickly however, this is only what I would have expected given the circumstances.I can not tell you anything about this hotel as they double booked us, so after a 5 hour journey we arrived at midnight with no where to stay. They had found us alternative accommodation but I am pretty sure prison cells are cleaner and better equipped....the lights in the room didn't even work. Anonymous 15 September 2016
3.5 star ratingStaff lovely. Very helpful and friendly. Hotel looks tired. Bedroom carpet was frayed. Bedroom walls paper thin. Someone in the next room put their T V on at midnight full blast and left it on all night. Could even hear them coughing.Anonymous 22 September 2016
