Conveniently located in the heart of the LSDI (Lubombo Spatial Development Initiative), guests have easy access to many of the conservation, wildlife and cultural attractions in the region. Tembe Elephant Park and Lake St. Lucia are both approximately 50 km from the country house and Hluhluwe Game Reserve is around 25 km away. The city of Durban and Durban International Airport are both roughly 290 km from the hotel.The original hotel, built in 1948 on the postal road from Durban to Lourenco Marques (Maputo), was purchased by the Zulu Nyala Group in 1996. The hotel has been restored to its original colonial grandeur, complimented by a delightful African ambience. The country house offers 57 guest rooms in total and facilities include a lobby, games room, TV lounge, bar, dining room and conference facilities.All of the guest rooms are fully air-conditioned and en suite with a separate bathtub, a shower and a hairdryer. The spacious colonial-style rooms are all equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, overhead fans, a wall-mounted safe and a direct dial telephone.Guests can take time out between African adventuring to relax next to the sparkling outdoor swimming pool or in one of the bars or entertainment areas. The hotel also has a small library, as well as a beautifully stocked curio shop for browsing pleasure and be sure to keep an eye out for the impala, nyala, warthog, zebra, blesbok and Zulu nguni cattle that roam freely on the property.Lunch and dinner are served buffet style and à la carte in the restaurant. They can also be served outdoors, weather permitting.

We were spoilt and pampered by all the staff - a most memorable christmas;)The outdoor facitilies could be improved especially the garden furniture and sitting area. 4.5 star ratingGreat value for money on the DBB package. The room and bathroom is sufficient. The location is amazing (you can wander around and look at the zebra and springbok), the staff hard working and friendly and the food really great. They even made special arrangements to cater for my dairy allergy. Thanks guys, great work!!The group offer game drives and a spa in the nearby lodge. If you want more than walking around the grounds, eating great food and laying by the pool perhaps staying at the Lodge may be a better choice. ljw913308 January 2013

5.0 star ratingIt was absolute pleasure to stay at this lodge - we were upgraded to Game Lodge, which is ca 3-4 km. from Safari Lodge in Game Reserve Park. The room was great and big. Views from the pool site were very nice and different animals walked around without afraid of people. Staff was very helpful and co-operative. Food was also OK. Near is Hluhluwe game reserve, which we visited for 6-7 hours. That trip was great, we saw up close very many animals and took absolutely gorgeous photos. So suggest Zulu Nyala Game Lodge to everybody - you will love that. We stayd for an extra night.Indrek16 February 2013
2.5 star ratinggute lagewahnsinnig schlecht geführt und völlig desinteressiertes personal. es war laut, weil das personal sich schon morgens um 7 uhr laut vor dem zimmer unterhielt. beim frühstück ging jeden morgen jemand mit dem laubsauger am außen liegenden speisesaal vorbei und machte radau. es war allen egal, ob sich die gäste wohlfühlten. ich würde da nicht mehr hinfahren, auch wenn der preis relativ günstig war.asgard30 March 2013

3.0 star ratingGood price, reasonable quality, staff friendly and helpful. I like the zebra walking around the property. Nice show after dinner. Croissants for breakfast were delicious. Bit far from every other major activity in the area. Dinner was colourful but tasteless. For some reason my final bill was never produced and check out was a bit of an ordeal. kyle12 August 2013
4.5 star rating Very well run establishment.Will definately return.Very good value for money.Being locals and not part of a group booking we felt we were very uninformed as to activities.We travelled to Hluhluwe/Umfolozi not knowing that there was a game park right on our doorstep !!!! On the Sunday night we went to bed early as we were travelling to Kruger on the Monday morning only to be woken by drums and dancing right outside our window.That wasnt the problem the problem was nobody notified us as to this happening so we lost out on what sounded like a very good show !!!!Rod James25 September 2013

3.5 star ratingHübsche Ferienanlage mit Lodges und Zeltunterkünften mit Wildtieren direkt auf dem Gelände zu beobachten. Sehr schöne Boma. Es gibt ein touritisches Zuludorf auf dem riesigen Gelände. Die Zimmer und Bäder sind sehr gross aber einfach eingerichtet. Die Nähe der Nationalparks lädt zur Safari ein. Das Abendessen in der Boma hätte landestypischer sein können. Das angebotene Zulu-Programm fiel leider mit nur 20 Minuten recht kurz auf und war so spät, dass etliche Gäste bereits in ihren Zimmern waren. Leider kein kostenfreies Internet.01 November 2013
