4.5 star ratingGood location at Lagos, 5 minutes walk from the centre. Big (and good) rooms, clean and confortable, including a big bathroom. Professional staff. Good facilities like pool and restaurant. There is a bus every each 15 minutes to the beach (the beaches are distant from the centre).Paid car parking.16 September 2008
3.5 star ratingSpacious hotelThe room was quite small, but the main offending problem was the strong smell of igarrette smoke in the room.10 September 2008
4.0 star ratingnice central location, low rise and all pleasant. The general areas of the hotel are very nice, smart and stylish. Duna beach club, very pleasant. Our bath in our room needed replacing, it was in a very poor condition. The whole suite needed a touch up, re-decoration wouldn't be a bad thing. The swimming pools were freezing, not good if you've got little ones who can't jump in and out and can't stay in the water for a long period of time. Food at the Duna Beach club is expensive and not that good, children's menu costs the same as the adults. There were no children's menus at the hotel and the only option for food was the hotel bar or a buffet but they charged adult price for a toddler.23 September 2008
3.5 star ratingThe hotel is very central, well located for town. I would have no hesitation using the hotel again. It is very clean and the staff very helpfulOur initial reaction to our room was that it was quite small and we considered asking for a change but in the end we didnt and it was fine. We have been used to much bigger rooms in Portugal hotels in Villamoura. There is a lack of worktop area in the bathroom. It is difficult for two people to have wash bags etc and we had to keep our washing kit in the wardrobe. More worktop space would be great. Food at breakfast was standard food that you get in Portugal/Spain. Evening meal was not good at all and the price was high. Wine prices are higher than most eating places, accompanied by poor quality food put us off eating at the hotel despite an offer of 3 meals for 80 euro.11 October 2008
4.5 star ratingThis is our third visit to the hotel and everytime it is more enjoyable. The hotel manages to combine high standards but with a personal touch, which is mainly felt in the bar. The Bar staff, Jose, Hugo, Egor and Danella are a fabulous team who care for their clients and make time spent there very enjoyable, whilst remaining professional at all times. The position of the hotel is fantastic and the Dunas Beach club is the very best there is throughout the Algarve. We stayed at four Tivoli hotels this trip which totalled 20 nights and Tivoli Lagos is by far the best as it gives both the standard and the personal interaction. Elvis night is a night to be enjoyed for young and old a like pure entertainment!I have never yet managed to have a room with a view, although i request a lower level floor, i am happy to be on the third or fourther floor as in the Tivoli these are at grd level in some places. However the rooms have always been quiet up until now. This time unfortunately on the last three nights of our stay we had a family put in the next room with a veery young child, who arrived very late one night and promptly awoke very early in the morning due to the clock going back, so we were not afforded a lay in on our last few days of holiday. At the same time there was an immigrant convension in the hotel and quite a few of these candidates where put along from us, again they had early starts and late evenings,. Although this did not ruin our stay i do feel with more thought that a family with small children should be put in a more remote room ( i do have 4 grandchildren so am not child adverse-but would prefer not to be woken up at 7.00 when not going to work myself) and if a convention is to be held in the hotel at the same time as other clients stay, then maybe they should be housed in one area so as to only annoy themselves with their early starts and cell phones!07 November 2008
4.5 star ratingstaff very good. good fresh breakfast for a buffet style.15 euro charge to use the room safe, is not on for a four star hotel. and particularly as there is no mention of the charge on the notice hanging beside the safe, simply a statement that if one wants to use the safe, to pick up the key from reception. I was later told that it says there is a charge in the facilities book in the room, which I had not read. Surely it should say so on the notice beside the safe.01 March 2009
3.0 star ratingBreakfast was great. Entertainment most nights in the hotel bar. Good location.Booked a non-smoking room, even though we were given a non-smoking room, the room still smelt of smoke. Either the cleaners smoked in there, or it's such an old hotel, it's ingrained in the carpet.15 April 2009
3.5 star ratingVery nice Hotel, friendly staff, only experienced buffet style food as we were attending a function, but the quality was very good.charge for using fitness facilities, cost my husband 5 euros plus another 2 as part membership for a 1/2hr session in steam room 7 euros bit excessive!! as I was able to use the indoor pool for free!18 April 2009
4.0 star ratingThe hotel is in a very good location. The room was very comfortable. Breakfast was good. It was not good that the indoor heated pool closed at 7pm on the weekend - we were not advised about that until we wanted to go for a swim. I would definately recommend the hotel. Anon27 May 2009
3.5 star ratingDuna Beach Club is by far the biggest selling point. Lovely beach, good pool and worth the extra money to sit by it, and excellent bar/restaurant service. A quick stroll to town which has lots of bars/restaurants so excellent location.Did run out of beach towels on one occasion and didn't offer up alternatives for the day sailing we had planned. 30 June 2009

5.0 star ratingFrom the moment I entered the Tivoli I was bowled over - the tranquil atmosphere was everywhere. The reception staff were very professional - going on down to breakfast servers and room cleaning staff. There was nothing that was too much trouble for anyone. The hotel is immaculate - not a thing out of place and all common areas were spotless. This hotel is a real jewel of a find!! I shall stay here again with no hesitation. It is also fantastically located in Lagos.Bacon and sausage at breakfast not the best but there are many other food items to fill the bill.Cathy01 February 2011
5.0 star ratingIt was like walking into a newly appointed 5 star 2 bedroom apartment. The apartments are next to the hotel of the same name and you check-in there. The staff are also magnificent - very friendly and helpful. There is also ample car parking spaces around the blocks and each section of 4 apartments has it's own small outdoor pool on the roof.Bars and restaurants are a short stroll away and provide good food at very reasonable prices. Across from the hotel you can pick up the boat that will take you to the islands of the Rio Formosa - well worth a trip at a very reasonable €15 for 3 hours. The apartments make a good base for anyone wanting to explore the eastern end of the Algarve. We would have stayed longer if we had known how good they are, and how reasonably priced they are. We could easily have accommodated 6 people in the one we had. 04 July 2012
5.0 star ratingI cannot fault the hotel at all. Great price. Great breakfast, good location. Would definitely recommend it. Anonymous 23 July 2016
Motoclub25 July 2017
4.0 star ratingGood sized property with 2 pools and lots of common areas. Very helpful staff, great location next to Bus and short walk to trains. This property would feel much better with little improvements - change the CRT TVs to flat screen, paint some outer walls, my room had a slight pungent smell. Sometimes had an 80s/90s feel to it.Travelbug07 January 2016
