2.0 star ratingwe thought the belfry hotel was excellent - check was quick and the receptionist was very pleasant as she was in the morning when we paid our bill . Our room was clean and warm Everything great with one exception - see belowAt dinner the food in the restaurant was poor quality - the turkey (ordered by my wife) was tasteless and the gammon steak that I had was tough tough Breakfast was good but could have been better24 December 2009

3.0 star ratingDinner in the restuarant for dinner was very disappointing - for example, the bottle of wine was warm and when I asked for it to be chilled a wine cooler three quarters full of water a a few lumps of ice appeared (obviously it had not been emptied after lunch) was brought. The soup was very poor quality and not what one expects for £5.00.The turkey was satisfactory. For a holiday stay around christmas it was a dissaponinting start to our holiday.18 December 2010

4.0 star ratingThe room was very clean with good facilities and extras.I was disappointed with the breakfast. The paper napkin on the table was dirty but hidden under the cutlery which I thought was disgusting for a four star hotel. I asked the waitress to change it which she did very willingly!29 July 2011

3.5 star ratingPleasant and helpful staff. Good restaurant although a little pricey, and we found the Costa cafe better value on the second evening.There was a hiccup with our booking. The hotel had booked us into the wrong dates and only because we rang before arriving to check the booking, was the mistake discovered and rectified. So near a busy main road that the night-time traffic noise was disturbing, despite the well sealed double glazing. 29 October 2011
