Located on Wine Street in the centre of Sligo town, the establishment is in close proximity to a number of restaurants, bars, pubs, shops, tourist attractions and nightlife spots. Sligo has its own domestic airport, which is around 7 km from the accommodation, and is within easy distance of Dublin, Belfast and Ireland West Airport Knock. This family-friendly hotel represents the first design accommodation of its kind in Ireland. It offers 116 colourful guestrooms with a playfully chic décor and unusual architecture. These spacious bedrooms come with a 26-inch LCD TV providing a full entertainment menu and remote on-screen Internet access. Guests wishing to play a round of golf can visit the course at Strand Hill, which is around 20 minutes away by car.

5.0 star ratingThe hote was amazing! We were delighted with our room which had a rooftop balcony. The location couldn't have been better for our sampling of the craic in Sligo Town! We had our breakfast delivered to the room - the food was hot and the poached eggs were perfectly cooked. Nothing was a problem for the staff who couldn't have been more pleasant or helpful - am keen to plan a return visit already!16 August 2011
3.5 star ratingOn our arrival, the staff on reception desk were extremely professional, courteous and helpful. 1st impressions are very important to us - this meant we commenced our visit with a very positive warm feeling about the hotel. During our stay we found all staff, including the dining room (for breakfast) and room attendants, also had these qualities. Breakfast was tasty with a good selection of both hot and cold foods on offer. As a 3Star hotel we expected a fairly basic standard of furnishing but was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and colour scheme and quirky design. The hotel is in a fantastic location within walking distance of shops, cathedral, pubs etc. The biggest bonus for us was the view of the river from our room although I'm not sure what views are available from rooms on the other side of the hotel. We would definitely consider staying in the Glasshouse again and would recommend to friends who want a basic but stylish, clean and comfortable hotel.nor03 January 2013
