3.0 star ratingThe reception area is very comfortable and the log fires and animal footstool in the rooms were nice touches. Reception staff were very pleasant despite the concerns we raisedWe stayed here following a cruise for a couple of nights. We were celebrating a milestone birthday and anniversary so this was a special treat to extend our holiday. My husband is a photographer so I specifically requested a double room with a nice view, didn't mind if it was water or city but wanted a view. We were assigned room 303 which had two single beds and a tree growing directly in front of the window blocking any view. Unfortunately the tree did not muffle the sound of the trains and train crossing directly outside the hotel - the trains ran all night and the hotel even provided earplugs for guests in that side of the hotel. We asked to move to a double room and were told that the hotel was fully booked but that we could move the following day. After a night listening to the railroad soundtrack outside we called reception at 11.00 to ask when our new room would be ready - any time up to 4pm was the response. We wanted to hire a car and go out exploring for the day so the receptionist kindly told us to leave our packed bags in the room when our new room was ready. We came back at 15.30 and were told the room still wasn't ready but that we could use our old room until it was. The cleaner had obviously been in and reset for the next guest so we didn't want to site on the beds, use the bathroom etc. We just sat on the chairs and waited. At 4.15 I called reception and was told that a bellboy was already on his way to move the bags. Half an hour later and no sign of the porter I called and said we would move the bags ourselves. The receptionist told us to go to room 380 (as far from 303 as possible at the other side of the conference rooms) and we would be met by someone with our key. 20 minutes later and no sign of the key so I went down to reception to ask for it. I explained the situation the guy on reception who called a bellboy to move our luggage!! I explained gain that we had moved it ourselves and I just wanted they key to get into the room. After another call and a conflab with his colleagues another receptionist eventually gave me the key. It was almost 6pm by this time. Room 380 was a definite improvement, King size bed, water view over the Port of Seattle jetty and bath tub as well as shower. Offered a free drink in the bar as apology for cock-up but still put a dampener on what should have been a very special occasion. Tips - Avoid rooms 103/203/303, they seem to be the only ones with an obscured view. Don't use the valet parking - $41 +tax per night. Much cheaper on street parking or multi storey car park just over the road.Anonymous 19 May 2016
4.0 star ratingThe view over the water is beautiful and the location is perfect for tourists. The rooms are cozy, with fires, teddy bears and modern bathrooms. The hotel is like a cheap hotel that has been "done up". The corridors are long and dated, and the day we were there they smelled of smoke, though it was a smoke free hotel.19 August 2008
2.0 star ratingSea viewPrice, hidden unexpected additional charges, noise from railway line and highway. Dreadful bedroom, tired, small (only one bedside table they couldn't fit in a second), dark, depressing, very poor quality furniture, had to move room due to smell of smoke in first, no privacy nets and room overlooked car parking lot. The list is endless. Would never stay here again, wouldn't recommend the hotel. Thank goodness it was only for one night. The most expensive nightly rate we paid during an eighteen day holiday and it was the worst hotel, bedroom and service by a long way. This hotel gave us a poor lasting impression of Seattle.
