2.5 star ratingFantastic location looking out over the bay. You won't get a Scottish welcome because we couldn't find any Scottish staff. We got a room with a sea view but the window was so dirty I had to open the window to see it. The staff were not organised for meals; it's frustrating having to stand and wait when most of the tables are empty but they haven't cleaned them Anonymous 12 May 2016
2.5 star ratingStaff were friendly and efficient. The hotel and rooms looks tired and the room we stayed in looked nothing like the preview images. In desperate need of refurbishment. Tiny tv in the room. Rotten swollen wood around the shower. The mattress had two large indentations where people have been lying - extremely off putting. Most importantly the water pressure was so low we couldn't take a shower since it was just dribbling out. Furthermore the water didn't even warm up enough to have an acceptable shower. Very poor especially for the price. Would not recommend.Ian12 May 2011

3.0 star ratingLining and towels were clean and the breakfast was OK. Location and views from the dining room were good. Staff who provided breakfast were very friendly. The hotel was very tatty and in our room the paper was coming off the walls, there was a hole in the bathroom door and the window frames were beginning to rot. The room was very small and i would not have stayed for more than one night. Receptionist (Eastern European of course) was not very helpful and seemed very disinterested in what she was doing. At the moment, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Lacking investment and not up to the standard of the other hotels in the Oxford group 31 March 2012
1.5 star ratingGood location next to petrol station and supermarket.Very rude staff - the one in the evenings. The ad online is deceiving, the photos are in no way a representation of how the hotel and rooms really look like. Everything is worn out and shabby. I should have paid attention to the reviews that said this place is a dump. Anonymous 07 June 2015
4.0 star ratingNice & clean, good food.Staff without passion.Anonymous 22 October 2015
3.5 star ratingThe room was warm and cosy.I have never been in a hotel room where the sheets do not fit the mattresses. We slept on top of the bedding, as the thought of sleeping almost on top of a bare mattress was very unacceptable. The fact that there were only showering facilities for one in a twin bedded room for two for two nights was totally unacceptable. We will not return.Anonymous 23 April 2017
2.5 star ratingfree parking, friendly restaurant staffThe hotel is more like a youth hostel or a student residence. Would be acceptable as a 2-stars hotel for GBP 40 / night, so, however, no value for money. Cleanliness: fair. Renovation: partially required. Reception staff politely but "chatters" memorize down learned spells. WiFi only in Lounge available, extremely slow, so useless. Presumptive specializing in buses (big coach parking closer to entrance then car park "downhill"). "Accomodation factory" for mass treatment of "one-time tourist" without individuality. I stayed 2 nights, after my room was tidied up the first morning the door was left open, so anybody could have gotten in and steal things (did not happen luckily).Marco07 May 2016
