Hotel Information

A traditional Victorian hotel with 66 bedrooms and beautiful surrounding gardens which are quiet and peaceful. The lounge and bar are oak panelled and boast a lovely fireplace. The restaurant is full of charm and character and has excellent menus. A large oak panelled lounge with sweeping staircase which is the ideal place to relax, there is also a spectacular grandfather clock and open fireplace. The bar is open 24 hours for residents and there is a non smoking restaurant. There are spectacular private grounds surrounding the hotel with colourful gardens. The bedrooms are spacious and equipped with all up to date facilities including colour TV and trouser presses. A large percentage of the rooms have double beds and there are rooms overlooking the grounds on request.

3.5 star ratingVery nice clean hotel. Not much else to say other than the breakfast was good and as we were at a party there, the evening buffet was very good too. Restaurant was closed at lunch time when we arrived and whilst we could have eaten, i felt it would have been uncomfortable to have sat and ate in the foyer. Also was a very strange menu!! Ended up going down the road to the local Asda and buying sandwiches from there! (No sandwiches on the menu at all which i found strange!!) marg15 September 2011
3.5 star ratingOverall a nice hotel in a good location. Bedroom and shower room ready for updating but this is obviously eflected in the price paid. I would stay in this hotel again, good value for money.28 September 2011
