2.5 star ratingVery close to centre of town and its amenitiesAlthough the downstairs bar, restaurant and reception are fairly, newly, nicely decorated the rest of the hotel is in very poor shape and needs immediate refurbishment in my opinion its a very old building but our ceiling actually had plaster coming off and the corridors were a bit smelly though the cleanliness was good. Would not have been happy to pay more than £50 a night, for our room maybe even £35 would be enough it was small and on the front of the building so noisy until 2am when local revellers had made their home. Breakfast was chaotic took a while to get served and we never got our toast! Condiments were nowhere to be seen, granted they had a wedding party staying there who seemed to take priority over everything but it was a standard english breakfast they were banging out so shouldnt have been that painful anyway only stayed there as had a wedding to attend near by it did its job the bed was comfy and they shower had sufficent power but would not recommed sorry.scarah31 August 2010
