4.5 star ratingThe hotel was lovely and the facilities were good. It was a bit out of the but the private beach more than made up for that. We went to the orangutan reserve which was a nice experience.I would say the downfall is the food. The food is overpriced and average. I expect high standards and quality for the price paid. We went to the Indian restaurant one night, the Indian restaurant did not have steamed rice available! Given there are 5 restaurants which forms part of the hotel complex, is it not a simple case of wondering to one of the other restaurants which was only a few metres away to get some rice?! On the second night we went to the seafood restaurant, I ordered the steamed sea bass fillet. This was not properly cooked and the middle was raw, like it was frozen. The flesh was two different colours, quite clearly some of it was raw and the outer bits cooked. The flesh and skin was also tough and this did not seem like seabass. I fed this back to the staff and this was fedback to the chef, who advised that this was properly cooked. I disagree.23 October 2012

4.0 star ratingLarge beautiful private beach with the best sands I've ever seen. Staff are helpful and professional. Restaurants provide quality food at premium. Activities are well diversified, though advanced booking strongly recommended. Fireflies tour is special and unforgettable. Free wifi is very convenient and easy to access.Hotel is quite dated and shows signs of wearing off. Room is not huge and TV can be larger. Room amenities are a bit disappointing and no in room coffee machine.Dave01 March 2013
5.0 star ratingIt is a beautiful resort with friendly staff and a magnificent pool area suitable for people of all ages.Prices are a bit steep all around the resort but I guess when there are no other option for food or drink in the area you can get away with it. The happy hour at the Boat Bar is a bit of a scam! It is a lovely place to sit and watch the sunset over a beer or wine but definitely not a cocktail. I found the cocktails during happy hour (as did the people that I was with) to be either watered down or to have the pouring of spirits kept to below the required amount. You could taste the difference between happy hour cocktails and normal hour ones - this is in my opinion pretty poor. If the bar staff are taught to do this or if this is standard practice to save costs during happy hour then just don't offer them as a happy hour drink and keep it at just beer and wine!09 April 2013

4.5 star ratingAmazing, I didn't want to leave. I was surprised at the cost to see the Orangutans which is double the price than Sepilok and there are only 2 Orangutans. Staff at reception could not advise how much it would cost to make a toll free call to the airline from my room. I received 3 different answers. I wanted to eat at the Indian restaurant one night for dinner and it was empty. I was advised there was no room, which I found quite odd - it appeared they didn't have enough staff. I don't think you should have to book the restaurants as the hotel should cater for all patrons considering the location there isn't really anywhere else to eat. Anonymous 01 October 2015
