Situated directly by the sea overlooking the eternal blue of the Gulf of Oman and surrounded by the foothills of a mountain range, the Al Waha is a luxurious hotel dedicated to families. It is located within the Shangri-La Barr al Jissah Resort & Spa, being the largest of three hotels. The hotel's various swimming pools form an oasis with many date palm trees, as the name Al Waha means “the oasis” in Arab. It is constructed in the traditional Dhofari architectural style, typical of the southern region of Oman. An ideal hotel for families who wish to live an authentic Arab experience.

4.0 star ratingThe staff was extremely helpful and professional. They brought us breakfast after 10:30 to the room, we were upgraded to a seaview room and were granted late check out at 5pm, which we truly appreciated. The room was humid and the bed linen - especially the pillows smelled very bad. The bedding is of poor quality and makes you sweat even though it is not hot in the room.19 July 2010
