4.5 star ratingGreat Room, Superb location for the beach and town facilities, breakfast could do with more fruit but that was the only complaint!21 January 2009
2.5 star ratingClose to town centre. The Grand Hotel requires a serious refurbishment/update, the rooms are a mis-match of furniture, the bed did not match the headboard. Spa bath was broken and room had a sewage smell, although no fault to the hotel, but the seagulls rule the hotel with nesting, pooping everywhere and so noisy from 4am onwards. Dinning room was more of a greasy spoon café. Sorry will not be back.30 July 2013
1.0 star ratingThere is nothing positive to say about this hotel, or The Brittania group of hotels.!!We, and many others were turned away as the hotel was overbooked. We were send to "a newly refurbished" hotel on the the other side of town, which bore the sign Danger construction site. We were provided with a taxi so we could use The Grands facilities. The cabaret lasted approx, 20 mins as one girl turned up, and the rest didnt. The place was dirty, shabby, and the staff were aggressive and rude. We were told by other staff that rooms had been given away on Groupon sites, and more than expected had taken up the option. They should put full price paying customers first. If the rooms were as disgusting as the rest of the hotel, then maybe we had a lucky escape!20 August 2013
4.5 star ratingExactly what it says on the tin - the main areas of the hotel as exquisite in their grandure and it is a pleasure to stay in a real piece of history. The hotel shares swimming pool and leisure facilities with the neighbouring adjacent hotel. Amazing sea views from room (we had room 310) and public areasQueue for breakfast of around 10 minutes not welcome. Bed not overly comfortable. We had a family room and there was a nightlight on all night and we could not find a of turning it off (but we did not ask).btbrett14 October 2013
2.0 star ratingwe have stayed at the hotel several times before and understand that it is a two star hotel therefore our expectations have been according. the rooms have been clean and the staff always friendly and willing to help. we use the hotel as a weekend getaway.after this weekends experience we will defiantly not be returning again!!! the room was small, no bath, bathroom was dirty the carpet full of tea stains. there were tea making facilities but no tea bags/sugar or milk. the noise from the toilet flush/shower from the room above was incredibly loud (louder than the ones in our own room) which kept us awake during the night and very early in the morning. having stayed several times before this will defiantly be the last. we were left wondering if these rooms were allocated specifically for the hotelopia as it was the first time we used this site. i do hope not!!12 November 2013
2.5 star ratingGood locationQueue at reception too long - four terminals and only one person working. Heard 3 complaints whilst waiting in the queue. Room was very dusty and looked like toilet hadn't been cleaned - cleaned it myself. Breakfast was not great, my partner couldn't eat it. Hotel desperately needs some money spent on it to update it.Anonymous 27 August 2014
4.0 star ratingThe ensuite room was quiet and comfortable and had a tv and tea making facilities. The hotel has been beautifully restored and had a weloming atmosphere. The members of staff we had contact with were helpful and keen to offer service. We stayed for one night and will definately come back again. The carpet in the bedroom was worn but not a problem and the bedside lamp did not work. We mentioned the lamp on departure and the receptionist said we should have let them know and they woud have replaced it.katsco17 September 2014
