Less than two hours away from Johannesburg and Pretoria, nearby attractions include a snake park, elephant sanctuary, and Pilanesberg Game Reserve which is home to the famous Big Five. The relaxed country setting and central location makes it an ideal conference venue or holiday destination. The Royal Bafokeng Stadium is a 10-minute drive from the hotel and Sun City is around 55 minutes' drive away. Family-friendly, younger guests can enjoy the hotel's jungle gym and jumping castle while there are a number of invigorating leisure options such as hiking, abseiling, hot air ballooning, fishing and mountain biking in the Magaliesberg area.

2.0 star ratingOur experience from entering at the gate to checking in was amazing. The security guard was most friendly and warmly welcomed us. The best part of our stay, was dealing with Tshepo - the most friendliest and knowledgeable person at the Hotel. He was exceptionally accommodating and the lady who initially checked us in at the front desk, cannot remember her name unfortunately, surprised us with an upgraded and much better room in the new section. Which really impressed us since we had no complaints about the first room we were booked into. We were also glad to know that your Hotel had a generator, so when the lights went out it was not all doom and gloom. That's pretty much the highlight of our stay. The food, waiters and service in the dining hall was exceptionally poor. When we arrived for dinner, the waitress was unable to inform us of the type of soup nor was she able to tell us what type of cheese cake was being served as per set menu. She just stood there, shrugged her shoulder and very confidently said " I don't know, they did not tell us when we arrived for duty tonight" The table cloths were dirty and stained - hidden under plates, glasses and cutlery. The food was tasteless and not well presented. My lamb chops were raw on the inside and burnt black on the outside. Neither the waiter nor the dining manager bothered to come over and ask why I returned my meal without eating. Breakfast also did not cater for people who do not eat pork. So no beef or lamb was served as an alternative. Whilst the Hotel is nestled in a beautiful part of Rustendburg, there is really just nothing attractive/exciting for adults or kids to do. All excitement seems to take place off the Hotel premises which means we will need to drive to these destinations which defeats the purpose of a R&R weekend. This is also not the first time that I have stayed at your Hotel, so can honestly say that a few years back it was the perfect destination for family to just come and relax while the kids entertained themselves with a host activities that you once offered. And just for the record, the food was always amazing and we always looked forward to dinner and breakfast time. Back then, we definitely got what we paid for and so much more too. We don't think that we will return anytime soon unless of course some drastic changes take place to improve the service and offerings. Anonymous 02 June 2015
