Being a beautiful example of Portuguese Civil Baroque, the hotel is listed as a National Monument. 3.5 star ratingAbsolultely beautiful setting, rooms are huge, really lovely and we had a view of the river. Pool and communal areas are breathtaking.Huge inconsistencies every day. We didn't get any port on arrival, everyone else did. First day, the pool area was amazing. Cushions on the sunbeds, cushions on the sofas, umbrellas. Really relaxing and plush. Every other day the standard seemed to get worse, on our last day there was no cusions anywhere, and we had to request umbrellas. Breakfast was lovely, though again service hit and miss - one day it was immaculate, the next day they sat us at a table with no cutlery or cups and didn't then bother to bring any over, after 10 mins sat there I had to go and find someone. All in all, I have to say the hotel really is wonderful, and I would absolutely go again, but the above really really let it down. You get the feeling it is run by lots of university students with not much management or direction - and they just don't have the will to make it as special as it could beCBO10 July 2012
4.0 star ratingFront office staff and breakfast staff where really helpfull, specially one of our friends was glutein free so she got nice breakfast as well. nice surrounding and pool area.pool bar little bit expensive, salads were bad and small portion. little bit far away from center.Nimetön 14 July 2014
