Overlooking Algecira's bay, the hotel is located just 500m from the frontier with Gibraltar. The city center of Línea the la concepción is within a 5 minutes walk, and beautiful sand beaches can be found only 2km away. Always a pleasure to stay there Standards and food quality in the Dining Room have slipped a little since the hotel was taken over by Asur in 2010. 3.5 star ratingThe room was what I had expected and true to the descriptions given. The view was amazing.The choice of food was awful and cold unless I stood and waited for the meat to be cooked on the cooker. Everything else had to be reheated in the microwave. Out of the 6 mornings I was only able to have a cup of tea twice as there were NO ENGLISH BREAKFAST TEABAGS!! only flavour ones e.g. mint, apple. I complained twice about it but still no ordinary teabags I had to go out and buy my own after paying over 500€...29 November 2011

3.5 star ratingViews were good, location good, close to border for Gibraltar. Friendly staff. Didn't try the breakfast or pool so can't comment.Sorry to say but there were certain points to the hotel that wouldn't reach the 4 stars it has been given, for example, cigarette burns in elevator ceiling, hard matresses, broken window on revolving outside door, there was a large vent in ceiling as you walked in and you could see all wires/ piping etc which looked awful, curtains were tatty. Could do with another bin in room just a minor point but better than having to go to the one in the bathroom all the time. 05 October 2012

3.0 star ratingRoom a good size with a balcony. Bathroom well equipped and small complimentary toiletries provided. Ok for the price and closest hotel to the border with Gibraltar being a slow 10 minute walk. Mini bar in room not stocked. No tea or coffee making facilities. No additional pillows provided, only had a small bolster type pillow which we had to fold in half. No 'do not disturb' sign for door available if you wanted a lie-in. On our check out day, had to vacate the room by 12 noon but cleaners knocked on door three times to gain entry. Food wasn't included in our stay however we ate our evening meal there once, buffet style options but nothing fantastic. Breakfast was similar but choices ok but quality very poor. Area a bit rough at night and wouldn't like to go out alone, we wandered down some shops and there was a strong smell of marijuana and large groups of young men watching our every move. 4.5 star ratingA lot better food than before.We have stayed here many times before and found breakfast a lot better with eggs and omelette cooked to order and fresh sqeezed orange juice .Also delicious cakes and crunchy bacon.The lady who cooked the eggs was lovely.
