1.0 star ratingNon Absolute run down hotel, very cold of an evening. Had to ask for a radiator. Bathroom has plenty of scale, muck etc around seals. Plenty of H & S issues to be addressed I.E light switch has access to live terminals @ the reception desk. Lady at reception came across very rude (on the early shift) There were a couple of staff that was very helpful. The lady which assisted with the meeting rooms and also a young man working in the bar. Price was 40 a night which is understandable for the quality you get Anonymous 19 May 2016

4.0 star ratingHaving read some bad reviews of this hotel, i was pleasantly suprised when we arrived and the room was clean and well-equipped. For the price we paid we got excellent value for money. All communal areas were nice and parking was free, which is a bonus! The hotel is WELL overdue a refurbishment (but then most Britannia hotels are the same) and the breakfast was a little stale, (we did show up 15 minutes before breakfast finished!) however overall i was very pleased with our choice of hotel! lashes198503 July 2009
5.0 star ratingThe room was huge and clean. The buffet dinner was fantastic for the price. Two three course meals and a bottle of wine for £33...can't go wrong. The buffet breakfast was also very good. The room TV needs updating/replacing. There were no large plates at breakfast.. just sideplates?? I did ask but was told these were the only plates available.19 February 2011
4.5 star ratingstaff couldnt have been nicer-even when we arrived very early. Although we couldnt check until the afternoon, my husband had to go off and I was left to check in alone...not a problem. Room very large and spacious and bed comfortable...very cleanDecor of the room is very dated..so maybe the hotel could invest in some money for that. Breakfast time was very busy and the food was not topped up quickly enough as it ran out..so we ended up with very little hot food, and hot coffee. I did have to open all the windows as the heating was stifling, even in such a large room. However, for the money we paid it was fine JUST DO UP YOUR ROOMS WITH SOME MODERN FACILITIES 27 March 2012
3.5 star ratingStaff couldn't have been more helpful, especially when working under pressure on reception on their own at 6pm on a busy Friday. Location opposite train station very helpful when travelling. If you enjoyed the decor and interior furnishings of the early 90s, this hotel is for you. Room was ok, but hasn't seen a paintbrush since the late 1980s. Hadn't seen the model of TV since the early 90's. Not enough stale cigarette smell to make you think the previous occupant had been sneaking a crafty one out the window, but just enough to let you know someone had been smoking in there about 8 years ago before the smoking ban. Parking system's pretty confusing when you arrive too, but one you get your head around it, it's not bad.Anonymous 14 October 2014
2.0 star ratingReception staff polite and efficient.Very dated hotel with cold rooms. Unsavoury guest at breakfast!Anonymous 17 March 2015
3.0 star ratingCheap and looks quite nice from the outside. Handy having parking also! Night reception refused to take our prepaid voucher so had to pay again! Sorted it out in the morning but with a basic amount of service could have been resolved without causing the guest annoyance. Hotel looked clean on the surface but the bathroom was a little iffy.
