4.5 star ratingThe rooms, facilities and service were faultless. We stayed in a superior room which was spacious, had kingside bed, Settee and coffee table with another table and chairs on the outside patio area (ground floor only). The rooms had Electronic safe, Tea and coffee facilities, plenty of storage space, Television (but limited choice of channels) and bathrobes were also supplied.Only negative was the charge imposed for extending the check out time from 11 am until 2 pm - 25% of rack rate per 3 hours - worked out at £12 per hour - very excessiveGeorge - Newcastle17 February 2009

4.0 star ratingI asked to stay another night, I could pay £57 online so I asked what I would be charged if I paid at the hotel. I was told that they would charge me R740.00 ZAR but I should speak to Kim in the morning and she would give me a better rate as I had stayed at the hotel for the last 13 nights. I also stay at the hotel every year for the last ten years so I waited until the morning and again asked what I would be charged from Kim - she came back with R1180.00ZAR When I told her that I had been quoted a cheaper price the night before I was told that there was nothing she could or would do. After a very lovely stay at the hotel my views towards it and KIM are very very different. I am sure they can treat their local people in such a very unprofesional manner and get away with it but I am an international traveller and stay at many different hotels around the world. This was a very disapointing end to a lovely holiday.31 August 2011

3.5 star ratingSchöne ruhige Lage, mit sehr viel Charne. Gepflegter Garten mit vielen schönen Stellen zum verweilen. Freundliche und kompetente Mitarbeiter.Das Hotel und die Möblierung ist schon sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Die Zimmer riechen teilweise schon etwas muffig. Ein Renovierung ist unbedingt notwendig. Waren vor drei Jahren in diesem Hotel und eigentlich auch sehr begeistert, doch nach dieser Zeit ist auch keine Renovierung mehr durchgeführt wurden.HB07 February 2013
4.0 star ratingGreat secure location for stepping off into wine country as well as being an easy car ride to Cape Town waterfront. Staff are brilliant... friendly, helpful, unassuming, cheerful. Breakfasts are a treat. Dinner menu is a little short on choice and food varies a bit depending on what you have. It feels as if the menu is shortened from times past ?...... The hotel bustles with life without being rowdy which we like.We upgraded to a Superior Room. But in this room, there was no fridge despite there being tea making facilities. We like to keep our own milk for teas.... Tea bags were sometimes there, sometimes not. Same for the small milk cartons. We would have liked a coffee maker too. Free wifi was advertised in the room (6019).... but there was rarely a signal. You had to go to the lobby to hook up with the internet. Timtad26 February 2013

5.0 star ratingIf anyone has a complaint about this hotel then they can stay somewhere else. My wife and I stayed at the hotel for fourteen days, I was met at the reception desk with a huge smile. From that point on every need that we had was catered for. The hotel is undergoing a revamp with new carpets and painting , our suite was as fresh and new as the day it had been built. The pool was sparkling and fresh and was cleaned daily along with our rooms and beds changed daily. I must make special mention of Justice (The porter/doorman) i have never seen such a smile and nothing was a problem for him. I was introduced to the manageresss and the General Manager. These two people have made a very big impact on the hotel and I look forward top seeing it rank higher and higher on travel websites. A truley faultless stay. Loved every minute and will definatly return many times. Loved it and thank you all. No sponge in bathroom.Brendan Williams20 August 2014

3.0 star ratingBeautiful location and grounds. Stunning viewsHotel was undergoing an upgrade. I called the week before to ask if it would impact on my stay and was told it would all be over by the time we arrived. I have been back to this hotel every year for thirteen years and this was the worst stay ever. They wanted to charge me double for the upgrade of our room from the price we paid last year, the hotel was filthy with paint dust, tiling and renovation work. The hotel staff (Bedroom cleaners) were terrible and the room was never replenished with coffee or tea. The outside sewerage drain was overflowing and blocked for three days. I really hope the new general manager can pull this hotel back to the service levels that it used to be at. VERY disappointed and let down. I am a regular customer and they could not be bothered to look after us. Very angry about the loyalty aspect and the state of service. Brendan28 August 2015

3.0 star ratingThe dining room which once had a character is now like a sea front cafe! Room 1009 was not up to standard , the settee was that well used you fell down into it ,the middle table was very badly chipped along one side the good grey carpet was badly in need of a shampo , the glass in the sliding doors in most rooms seams to been splased with clear varnished and not cleaned off. The entrance flooring was torn and looking very old,yet we were told that this room had been modiernised. The charge for this room cannot be justified as we have stayed in many S A hotels with a cheaper rates .Peter Dunn27 February 2016
4.5 star ratingThe honesty of the staff. I left an iPad in dining room it was sent to reception immediately. I noticed on other occasions staff pick up left behind items and handed them in. I would trust everyone in this hotel. I also felt very SAFE and Secure. Lovely big airy room looking out on Gazebo. Friendly staff, maids in corridors all greeted us. Gate men all smiley. Good wifi in lounge area. Love the complimentary apples. All very helpful at all times. LOVE it here and recommend to all friends the only place to stay in the Cape for convenience and comfort.Bedroom carpet sticky and not very clean needed to wear slippers.
