3.5 star ratingLarge room, quality food.It has it's own secluded car park but the drive to it is poor (this is a shared drive and I believe the hotel wishes to resurface it but other residents do not). Very friendly waitress at breakfast, but there should have been two to cope with the amount of guestsCalpastorbichons06 April 2013
4.5 star ratingThe price we paid for B Sadly, although they had an evening chef there and not busy, we asked for a sandwich but were sent out into a snow storm to the local co-op down the road, 7 p.m reception said they could only do crisps as a snack. Sad, as everything else had been great. Anna24 March 2013
4.5 star ratingThe Hotel was very nice and friendly. Its just outside the City Centre with a 10-15mins walk from the Train Station. The Room was very nice to stay in. Staff very nice and friendly. 4.5 out of 5. I stayed in one of the outside rooms which was really nice the room was also warm. Would stay here again. There's not much I can say only that the mattress in my room was a bit to hard and needs quilt(s) on the bed not blanket(s). WI-FI didn't work properly as kept disconnecting and password wouldn't work properly. The only other problem I had was the communal entrance to the room when people came in and out a bit to noisy apart from that I cant really complain. There was only one other problem but I'm not sure if its the hotel's problem or not it the road that the hotel is on they state its on Langham Road when I looked at the sign on the street its self it says barrack road.12 April 2013
2.5 star ratingStaff friendly and helpful. bar and lounge area nice. Good breakfast.Needs an uplift, decor tired and scruffy in places. Bedroom was in sad state of decoration and the bathroom/tiolet area was awful and had a musty damp smell to it. Needs modernising.19 April 2013
3.5 star ratingThey did find an alternative hotel that had 2 rooms available. The cost was more than with Limetrees so they stood the differencve as it was there mistake. We had booked 2 double rooms for 4 people and when we gpot to the hotel they had only booked one room for 4 people. There was also no parking available in the car park.24 April 2013
3.0 star ratingRoom was very nice and comfortable. The gentleman who checked us in and out was very pleasant and helpful.Stayed on a Sunday evening, me and my partner had planned in have a nice couple of drinks in the hotel. Only to find out their bar doesn't open on a Sunday. I think is silly to be honest. Also breakfast was a bit of a joke nobody came to serve us till after I had to go out to reception and ask had we missed breakfast. The lady who did serve us was more concerned about talking to the kitchen staff than serving us. Breakfast was poor as we went down quite late it tasted like it had been Cooked hours previous and kept warm.Tracey829110 April 2013

4.0 star ratingAlthough the decor in my room was a bit outdated, the room had two the features I most appreciate - an iron (As others have noted, reaching the hotel at night, down the unlit back alley, was pretty scary alone and on foot!14 May 2013
2.0 star ratingWedding reception being held at hotel so no parking which we requested on booking. Short staff due to wedding so no one available to check us in. Noisy because of wedding guests. Breakfast terrible no tables available service was slow all staff kept saying was they were counting down as hotel was closing in 5 weeks not what you want to hear as a paying guest.27 May 2013
4.0 star ratingRoom had all facilities, even air conditioning! Although fronting the main road it was quiet and generally comfortable. Food was very good although choice limited in the evening. Plenty of plugs for phones, iPad and laptop, no juggling tv/kettle/bedside lamp etc as is sometimes necessary in some very up-market places. Sufficient for my purposes.Very tired old Georgian building. Steep stairs and no lift, wouldn't want to lug a suitcase for two people for a week up to the second floor! Carpet in reception area looked like it had been retrieved from a skip. Twice. Suspect owners now are in the trap: to charge more you need to invest, to invest you need to charge more. If you use this hotel, do not expect to be stunned by the decor but do expect to be pleasantly surprised at what you get for the price.matthewB21 June 2013
2.0 star ratingNone!I would not recommend this hotel to anyone! Bar shut at 10.30pm. Morning paper ordered but none available. Breakfast not available on first morning as we were told we were too late 9.10 am we were told 9.30 am finish. Breakfast on second morning was disgusting - bacon so crispy could not be cut. Beans must have been in pan all the previous week. Tomatoes not cooked and extremely hard. Noise from air conditioning unit kept me awake nearly all night. Our stay was Sunday 9th and Monday 10th June. We stayed at the Best Western Weston Hall Hotel in Bulkington on Saturday 8th June and this was FIRST CLASS. I was told by friends that the Best Western in Northampton was being closed. THE SOONER THE BETTER. Sue13 June 2013
4.5 star ratingThe staff were very friendly and helpful with everything we needed. After a very long coach journey with delays we just wanted a takeaway and rest when we arrived at hotel. They were more than happy to provide us with cuttlery and crockery for this. In regards to breakfast we were just expecting your usual continental but were offered full English which was very nice plus if that didn't fill you up you could have anything that was laid out too. The staff were very helpful and friendly and it is a great shame they ate closing next month :(Nothing negative other than them closing next month die to the college over the road buying them out.Lyndsey04 June 2013
3.0 star ratingthe hotel staff in the breakfast room was friendly.bathroom was not cleaned well with very dated bath and WC and sink, the shower head was filthy, with black dirt all over the showerhead blocking the holes and I had to clean it to be able to have a shower, the shower curtain was filthy with stains all over on the inside. I asked for a double room and booked it online, however the bed was no double bed but two very small single mattresses placed together. I was unable to get any sleep at night as I was ending up falling into the hollow space between the mattresses. The room I was given was right next to the boilers and the fans and they were on all night and quite loud so I could not sleep most of the night and was exhausted the next day as I had an early start, so barelly slept 4 hrs and that too with interruption as the noise from the boiler room and fans was rather loud. I wanted to pay for the hotel but the receptionist said he had already taken money out of my debit card when it clearly said on the hotelopia.com website that payment would be made at the hotel no payment would be taken from the debit card which was used only to reserve the hotel room. I was surprised that the receptionist said he had already taken the money out from my debit card!Jeff19 June 2013
