4.5 star ratingThe first item to write about is just how hard all the staff work, without exception the Cleaners, Gardeners, Bar / Restaurant, Reception & Animation teams - not just hard working but extremely efficient & friendly. The resort is also really very nice in that the way it has been designed & laid out - The trees and plants are really nice around the main swimming pool complex - which my ground floor apartment looked out onto. The apartment comprises of three rooms, large living room area with flat Flat Screen TV on the wall, L-shaped Sofa (Come two further beds) and chair / desk as well as a large fridge - which was useful. The bedroom also a large room with large sliding door wardrobe space for hanging & storing clothes on large shelves, the Bathroom just average size with the standard mirror over the hand basin but with a good powerful shower with long shower tray and material shower curtain- which I also found really easy to use (no small tight shower cubicles) - having never used a long shower tray before. The first week in May was really nice, weather not too hot 24 / 25C but good enough to obtain a great tan in my 7 days at the resort - spent mostly laying out by the main pool area. There was no problems with ques for anything - once or twice there may have been several people in front of myself for drinks at the single Dunas Bar - but nothing like i have experienced on other all inclusive deals in the same price bracket! The food & alcohol was good & plentiful - but nothing special - nor did i expect it to be for the price being paid for the weeks all inclusive holiday. I never see anyone drunk at all while there - so either everyone was being so well behaved and self disciplined in not over consumption of alcoholic drinks or there was a real lack of alcohol content in the drinks!! (I suspect the latter :-)) ) On the subject of the above - there are good near-by supermarkets where you can but 500ml bottles of good lager Steinburg being my preferred for just 57C a Bottle (approximately GBP 40 pence) was amazed how cheap things cost in the supermarket - I liked one called Macedonnia (or something like it - about 10 - 15 minutes walk away) The main Town Center & two beaches are also about 20 minutes walk from the resort - but there are free daily shuttle buses once a day to & back from. Highly recommend Aloe and will definitely be going back to this one later in the year, Winter time and will hire a car and explore this fascinating Island. Not really much negative comments to write that has not already been written by others - i think it would be good if they replaced the key locks to the room safe's with electronic digital 4 number pin codes & then did not have to charge Guests extra for this as well as a deposit. Beach Towels should also be given out to Guests on a Beach Towel Pass system, like you give in your pass to them in the morning collect the towel - hand back later in the day when finished with it and have your pass returned like most other places use - rather than again leaving a deposit for one at reception. The other thing that could be of some concern is that is you have a ground floor room - you enter via a key locking sliding patio door - there are no windows that you could leave open for air cooling at night - while i was there it was 17C at night so not too hot for sleeping - later in the summer with night time temperatures rising and no air conditioning or fans in the room to keep the room cool - it would have been a problem for me for sleeping - First & Second Floor apartments do have windows & patio sliding doors leading onto secure balcony's that you could leave open (with thick net curtains or mosquito guards in place) for air circulation. I did not see anywhere that you could request / hire fans at the resort - maybe there are available?sewermanjohn09 May 2015
