Hotel Information

The hotel is situated along the famed sandy beach at Batu Ferringhi. Batu Ferringhi Night Market is only a 10-minute drive away, whereas Penang Butterfly Farm and the Tropical Spice Garden are 15 minutes from the hotel. A broad range of shopping venues and tourist attractions are easily accessible within few minutes by car. This beach hotel comprises a total of 350 guest rooms. Amongst the facilities count a lobby with a reception desk manned around the clock, a currency exchange and a restaurant. Room and laundry services as well as a car park are also available. The rooms are fully-equipped as standard all featuring a sea view from a private balcony. Centrally regulated air-conditioning and a safe are also provided in all accommodation units as standard. Leisure facilities include an outdoor pool with a paddling area for children and sun loungers provided for guests' comfort.

3.0 star ratingGood position and swimmng pool.Room had wet stain on carper by fridge/ bathroom door. TV remote control did not work. bedside lights did not work, unable to read in bed. Dirty dishes were outside room when arrived and when to bed. Room needs a makeover.MIKE C04 December 2012
3.5 star ratingThe room was very big with a nice view. There was buffet breakfast. There were free shuttle services. The bellboys were good and nice and friendly and offered to help. The location is really inconvenient. It's far from everything, no nearby restaurants. Need to wait for the bus at the bus stop opposite the hotel or catch the free shuttle bus offered by the hotel but the times were fixed and sometimes don't fit with your own schedule. The room was large but the standard of the hotel was a 3 star hotel standard although it was rated 4 star hotel. The staff at the reception were slow and don't remember requests. The lady offering taxi and tour service didn't know her information about penang well. The room facilities were at the minimal standard. The TV was small old tv that didn't have many channels. The toilet was old and small. They didn't provide a floormat towel. There was no ventilation in the toilet. 28 December 2012
3.0 star ratingGood Breakfast Selection Reasonable When asked to bring us Toothbrush sets and disposables slippers, was informed that Toothbrush is chargeable and disposable slippers is free, BUT they brought us One pair of used disposable slippers!!! 3.5 star ratingThere was a great variety in the selection of food for breakfast. Location: not too bad. Took us about 10-15 mins to the night market, Bt Ferringhi beach where we did our water sport activities. If you don't want to take the taxi, you can take bus service 101 (bus fare RM1.40) which ply outside Hydro. Staff service was not too bad. Would be nice if the other staff especially those at the restaurant would smile more. We requested for a change of room and staff tried their best to accommodate our request. The scent of lemon grass upon entering the toilets was nice.We booked 4D3N at Hydro.The room assigned to us, the toilet facilities was not functioning well. I had to wait for about 10-15 mins to get the water closet flushed. The safe was not working for us to store our valuables. There were no face and floor towels in the bathroom. The hair dryer, too, were not functioning well. Needed to get a replacement. There were no glasses for us to use to rinse after brushing our teeth. Staff from housekeeping came knocking on our door wanting to make the room when we were still in the room. That disturb our rest The room were not made up even after we put up the "Make up room" door sign. That was why we requested to change our room. In the new room, everything seems ok with the facilities in the room. However, we requested for a change of towels the next day, only the bath towels were changed but not the face and floor towels. The wardrobe doors almost came off and made it difficult for us to open and close the doors. One of the morning we wanted to have breakfast but most of the tables were full with guests. We waited for a while, when we managed to get an empty table. One of the hotel staff changed the table cloth other table and to our shock, the table cloth was stained with white patches all over the top. It was unsightly and unhygienic.. We decided not to find another table. Suggestions for improvements: TV programs were boring, outdated and the same programs were repeated. Should install hooks or hanger in the toilets for guests to hang their bags on the ground floor and the lobby (I had to place my bag on the floor which was slightly wet at one point). Maybe place the scents (lemon grass) like those in the toilets in the bathrooms in the guest rooms. Don't mean to complain, just giving constructive criticism for improvement.
