4.5 star ratingFound the staff very helpful. The room was clean and acceptable for one person but would have been cramped with two of us. The food was good and well presented. The gardens were very pleasant. Overall an enjoyable experience. Not really a negative but a difficult place to find even with a satnav.19 June 2010
5.0 star ratingFood is fantastic, bit busy in the morning. Staff were superb and the facilities great. I will definitely be going back at some stage..01 September 2010
2.0 star ratingThe setting is magnificent but the building is a fake Jacobean mansion built 1904 - 1908. I would think that it would be a good choice for a wedding or business conference. The accommodation that we had was only adequate, most of the staff were young pleasant but poorly trained and there was some sort of drunken brawl outside our room as, we assume, the guests from a wedding party returned to their rooms after midnight. The hotel was difficult to find.Raimius05 July 2011
3.5 star ratingThe staff were professional, attentive and friendly. The food was of a good quality. The rooms were small and underwhelming. Our first room did not have any curtains, only a blind. The beds were uncomfortable and the windows need replacing as moisture has found its between the double glazing to mean they are permanently misty. The swimming pool was not accessible to children at the one time when it is most of use - from about mid afternoon to early evening at the weekends, which was a pain.08 May 2012
2.5 star ratingBeautiful main building and groundsI wasn't expecting to be accommodated in an out dated annexe. My room was on the second floor, in an attic. All stairs and floors creaked incessantly and I noted fifty plus dead flies in the emergency light diffuser outside my room door. Despite a special request for a no smoking room I could regularly smell cigarette smoke in my room. The bathroom fitment was very outdated and the old wooden toilet seat looked well past it's sell by date and it was loose and slid off one side if sat upon. Overall a very disappointing experience.Damian07 July 2012
