4.5 star ratingRoom was large, well furnished and very clean Arrived early in the morning on the first day and room was ready for check in (nice after a long night on a plane) Hotel facilities were good with the very minor exception of some sort of normal goods shop nearby - the shop in the hotel was only stocked with designer itemsNo real negatives apart from lack of shopping for minor items nearby and this is hardly a hotel faultPhilB23 September 2013
2.5 star ratingWhere to start, the entire experience was a total nightmare. To start with, we could not access the wifi, were repeatedly told someone would get back to us once the problem was resolved. After growing tired of waiting in our room, we went to reception to further discuss the problem and were told basically bad luck as they had a large conference on. Not good enough for. 5 star hotel. Next, I woke in the middle if the night thirsty, reached for a bottle of complimentary water room service had placed beside the bed, took a drink and then realised there was a strong toothpaste taste which led me to believe the water had already been used presumably by someone who wanted to rinse their mouth after brushing teeth. I was disgusted! Needless to say is approached reception in the morning who basically blamed me for not ensuring that the seal was it broken....I was half asleep in the middle of the night, is a unused bottle of water too much to expect? The worse thing is I was told that housekeeping would be advised and they would replace all bottles of water with new unopened bottles. The next night I picked up a bottle to find that the seal was broken.....APPALLING to say the least. Again a sorry was the very best reception could do. This is supposed to be a 5 star hotel? What a joke. Breakfast....asked to have some French toast prepared by the fellow that was on duty at the cooking station, was told he would bring to my table shortly. After waiting for half an hour and seeing people coming in after me having their good cooked by this very unpleasant fellow, my partner approached one of huge wait staff to ask why I still had not received my meal only to be advised that there are other customers and I should continue to wait. Will never return here nor can I possibly recommend to anyone. Crystal22 September 2014
4.5 star ratingEastern Mangroves is a lovely spacious hotel. It does not feel over run with guests even though it may be and the staff were always very attentative and welcoming. Rooms are very large and spacious, bathrooms also very nice with deep bathtub and large powerful shower. Extremely clean rooms and hotel throughout. Very nice gym, swimming pool was nicely set in the back overlooking the mangroves. Plenty of sunbeds to cater for all and staff always happy to help. Breakfast was very very good each morning with a huge selection of foods to choose from and very nice coffees too. I would happily stay here again, however next time get a room with a mangroves balcony as city view is too noisy with motorway traffic.Only issue was at breakfast, staff were slow on the weekend days to serve coffees or food orders as seemed a little lost as there were more guests than during the weekdays. Only a small negative considering the high quality of the breakfast each morning. Anonymous 03 November 2014
4.5 star ratingThe hotel is very well presented. The staff were great. The buffet breakfast was fantastic. Beautiful beach area. Comfortable rooms. Only thing I was disappointed was none of my rooms were ready when I got there at 2 pm. So we went out shopping and I got a call from hotel at 5 pm that my rooms were ready.
