4.5 star ratingbeautiful building in pleasant location. staff excellent and clean room. breakfast worth every penny, food from room service also very good value (well we were away for a love in wink wink). i would have rated everything 5/5 apart from it is in desperate need of refurbishment, which was in progress whilst we were there. will visit again when refurbishment is completed.28 April 2009
5.0 star ratingWe had requested an early check in to allow us to change before attending our Son's graduation ceremony - our room was not available - however the hotel allowed us to use another room On arriving back at hotel around 11pm from the Graduation celebrations, and returing to our allocated room we discovered that our luggage had not been placed in the room - so we had to go back to reception to collect this - not ideal - however it did not spoil our stay04 July 2010
4.5 star ratingThe bar staff that looked after us were lovely and welcoming. All the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Th.e room was lovely an the views from the hotel are stunningThe SPA wasnt very impressive, it needed a good deal of time spent cleaning it. Wasnt impressed for it being a Hilton hotel.12 February 2013
4.0 star ratingPlenty of space for seating and areas for meeting up or having a sit down by yourself. Swimming was great, really enjoying the pool. The food was amazing and staff were very efficient and friendly. The changing rooms at the swimming pool needs to be updated also in the steam room there are many tiles missing you had to be careful where you sat down. That was disappointing. Lettice29 January 2013

2.5 star ratingThe hotel looks good but sadly i think its been modernized on the cheap when it came to the room decor. Your charge for £160 for an overnight stay in my opinion was expensive and definately not value for money. This is such a shame as i based coming back to your hotel based on a recent fantastic stay at Double tree MKDons hotels in Milton Keynes. THis was a fantastic hotel. The room was clean and tidy. The toilet did not flush properly, the shower curtain was coming apart? and the Tv did not work correctly (Server was down). Funny enough this is the same excuse the last time i stayed so the girl on reception telling me that someone will come and have a look at it was just lip service which was unnecessary, all she had to say was its not working. We had breakfast in the morning and it was very tasty however the person who thinks deep frying a potato scone and having them oozing fat when you cut into them is acceptable should be fired. Absolutely disgusting. What was more worrying was the foreign guests seeing this disgusting mess, scottish folk dont eat this muck. Theres no hes a scotsman and its certainly not Nick Nairn. Tell the chef to stop being lazy and cook them properly. I have seen this in other hotels also. Your costs for wifi are horrendous also, £15 for 24 hours. You guys need to get with the times. You want to attract a certain clientel you should be providing free wifi like any other hotel i have stayed in. The blue rinse brigade that I seen at your hotel would probably not be too bothered about not using wifi but other guests using smart phones, games consuls and laptops and ipads etc would be well miffed at your fees. Fortunately due to my tv not working i was given free access, so why not provide it free to start with? A connection fee of £2.50 per guest would more than cover your anual fees for any maintainance. (A charge would still be unnecessary) Your charges at the mini bar are also scandalous. Fair play you want to make an extra couple of quid on the goods in the room but £2.50 for a single caramel waifer, £5 for peanuts and jelly beans, come on, are your really that desperate to exploit your guests, seriously?. This is just desperate and really is a throw back to the bad old days of out of date hoteliers. Just because you are part of the Hilton chain doesnt mean jack these days, your competition is fierce and truthfully i have stayed in much better hotels for less and had free wifi, complimenary snacks etc. Sorry i forgot about the free complimentary hot cookie on arrival. Not sure what that was for but im sure someone at senior management thinks its cool and trendy? The last time we stayed at your hotel was when it was being renovated and it wasnt great then. We only came back due to you being the only hotel in the area we needed to be in with a pool, and even that looks like it could be doing with a freshen up. I think you are still dining out on the glory days of the old "Dunblane Hydro" but sadly your compettitors have surpassed what you offer. Remember this is only my opinion so good luck in the future but i doubt i will be back. To sum up, if you want a hot cookie, big thumbs up, If you want to have your wallet looted for wifi and snaks in the room, give it a miss.Iamme01 July 2013

1.0 star ratinglooked a lovely hotel but as we didn get a room although we had booked through yourselves we didnt get to try it out and had to find another hotel at very short notice and we were unable to stay and enjoy the 8oth birthday paety we were supposed to be there for.As above - really upset and dissapointed at the poor booking sertice we had and the poor apology which didnt even address the fact we had to try and find another hotel at such short notice which ruined our lovely day or the extra money we had to pay for this hotel ( we had no options)which was another 20 minutes away. Would not recommend your service again due to the poor customer service in thinking another hotel was avaiable or the high price we had to pay. 02 July 2013
