In the elegantly decorated guests rooms they will find a true sanctuaries for escaping from the noise of the city. They are even specious enough to allow the business travellers to set-up a home office and stay on top of their workload from their comfort. Since it shouldn't be all work the venue offers a number of recreational facilities including a large fitness centre and a well-equipped gym, outdoor pool for the swimming enthusiasts and a sauna and massage facilities for total relaxation.

2.5 star ratingCheap enough.Classic past glory. Was probably good in the 70s but by now is old, dirty, smelly, cheap and disappointing. Locals and taxi drivers know it under its old name 'Batavia' and the new management who named it 'De Rivier' do not know what they are doing. The staff is perfectly nice but everything reeks of unfortunate cost-cutting and cheapness. Half the lights in the room did not work, the clock was half broken, the air conditioning barely operated and was off when I arrived in the room. There is a kettle but no coffee or tea pouches, let alone a glass or cup. No ironing board or iron. There is a pool but no bathrobe or slippers to be found in the room. Dirty fingerprints on the bathroom tiles (bloody finger stains?!! WTF) and the bath itself had not been cleaned with proper cleaning fluids for it was half-greasy. The breakfast was very poor with cheap minimal food and instant juice, nothing fresh or not from a can. Nobody manning the bar, if it could be called that. Only service after looking around for a member of staff to be served. WIFI only by the front desk, not even in the lobby. In all, cheap but not cheerful.
