Hotel Information

The family-run Cuilfail Hotel has a long tradition of offering Highland hospitality to visitors to the Lorne area, a beautiful corner of Argyll. Part of the hotel was originally an old drovers' inn, however the majority of the hotel was built during the Victorian era. Rooms are comfortable and the bar is traditonal and cosy. Meals are prepared in front of the guests in the dining room and are of an excellent standard.

2.5 star ratingIt is generally run down, there is no central heating in the room, only inefficient convector heater. Inadequate or no heating in bar, dining room, hallway, landing areas. Inadequate lighting in car park. Bathroom tatty, hot water takes 10 minutes to arrive in tap! Curtains tatty. The new owners have a major task to make this into an acceptable hotel.06 November 2008
