This beachfront resort is located in the heart of the historical fishing village of Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii. It is situated on a sandy bay. This 6-storey, historical hotel offers 460 guest rooms, some of which are wheelchair accessible. Guests have access to the public beach and the hotel offers a valet service, laundry and dry cleaning, a service desk and a travel desk. All rooms feature an en-suite bathroom, individually regulated air-conditioning and other amenities. The resort offers an outdoor pool and hot tub, sauna, massage and spa treatments, Hawaiian Lu'au, beach services and a beauty salon. 5.0 star ratingNice rooms that were just like the pictures on the web. The kids loved the pool (7 and 10 years) and the beach was very nice as well. Very good food on the Hotell restaurant.A little expensive restaurant. Some noice in the room from the elevator going up and down.TODA06 January 2013
2.5 star ratingThere was a fair amount of visible damage to the room (scrapes on walls, etc.). The service at the pool bar was very slow. There was also a fire alarm that went off in the middle of the night that we were never given an explanation of nor given anything for our inconvenience. 28 December 2012

4.5 star ratingThe hotel boasts the historical importance of King Kamehameha's reign. Nice showcase of the artefacts. The front desk staff were all very kind and solved our problems to the best of their effort. We needed to know the location of a meet-up point of a tour and they printed the exact location plus route of going their to us. The beach is cozy and calm. Lots of beautiful fishes and some colourful corals in it. That's a nice surprise! Very clean, very new. Omelett is very nice. Shampoo and conditioner are neat too. WIFI in the room was stable and fast.There were some flies in Honu restaurant when we had our buffet breakfast. It would have been even nicer if they are not there. We actually wanted a hotel with a bed for two rather than 2 single beds. It would be nicer if we get one big one.Patrick Tseng29 July 2014
