5.0 star ratingLovely hotel. Very clean and presentable. Staff were polite and helpful. Our room was very spacious and had a seperate little cabin bedroom for our daughter which was an added bonus. Spa and swimming pool were lovely. Super breakfast.Swimming pool was a bit too cold for our liking a couple of degrees warmer would have made it more enjoyable and we would have stayed longer. Decor is quite dated but there was evidence of renovations so hopefully the whole hotel will become updated soon. The locking system of the room wasn't very good from the inside. All you had to do to unlock the door was pull the handle down, not great with a toddler in the room. We ended up barricading the door with chairs for extra security during the night.Anonymous 23 May 2016
3.0 star ratinglocation is really good, the decor was nice, the rooms where clean and the breakfast was great. the hotel is perfect for anyone visiting chester for a few days if you get it at a good rate as the hotel is definitaly more like 3* than 4*.the whole hotel creaks which does get rather annoying this is not due to it being realy old though as unlike the looks of the pictures most of it im guessing was built in the 80's. the staff where not as helpfull as I would of liked, the resteraunt was fully booked which was fine but the staff didnt seem willing to suggest anywhere else and when i rang down for a taxi i was given a number rather than they ringing for me which you would expect in a 4* hotel. the fan in the bathroom made a ridiculus noise then it broke this was because it was falling of the wall. we then had to move a light from the bedroom into the bathroom the chairs in the room where thread bare and they have replaced all the light bulbs with energy saving ones which is ridiculus because they dont work properly we had to turn on 4 lights to get any light and they take about 30 seconds to turn on which left me turning them on and off thinking they where broken 17 February 2009

3.5 star ratingGood facilities, very welcoming and friendly staff, nice breakfast.Bathroom sink blocked, looking into the toilet on the ceramic a rim was visible, room took some time to warm up.Rosa14 December 2015
3.5 star ratingThe hotel could do with a refurbishment in certain parts, my partner had a bad pint in the bar, and when he went to sort that out was told by the bar man that he would have to put something through the till, when he should have just given him another pint, and my husband should not have paid anything towards the replacement pint. Never heard of that before. Anonymous 30 November 2015
3.0 star ratingThe food was good and reception staff were very good. The floor in the dining area wasn't clean, needed hoovering. For breakfast had to ask for jam to put on toast as none was put out. When they brought our hot drink to have with our breakfast they didn't bring any milk so had to ask for that as well. G m salmon03 June 2016
4.0 star ratinglovely welcoming staff on reception and throughout the hotel. Great price and good location, not directly in chester but only £6 in taxi, Would stay again. hotel needs a little love and attention, it looks a little drab in places. As there was a group of us going I had booked 4 rooms on hotelopia for a good price, and also booked 4 rooms on the hotel website, but was not happy when the rooms I booked on the hotel website were cancelled the next day leaving me to find another hotel for some of our friends. I found this rather disgusting of the hotel as the rooms were still showing for sale although at a higher price than I had originally paid! This practice should not be allowed...! lorra6211 July 2016
