4.5 star ratingVery convenient to airport and NewcastleI had lost my mobile on the to Newcastle and hotel payphones would not allow me to call mobile phones. Reception allowed me to use the desk phone which was really helpful, although (being picky) no privacy as at main desk.20 December 2008
4.5 star ratingVery convenient for the airport. Easy transport from there into Newcastle by Metro. Quiet room with good tea and coffee making facilities. Ideal for short stays while in transit. Overall no problems and a good room rate (probably due to a last minute booking).07 January 2009
3.0 star ratingEasy access to the airport and Metro.Reception staff very apologetic with allocation of first room. Reception staff very helpful in the morning at check out. Continental breakfast in room good.First room allocated had had a flood and carpet soaking. Bar not staffed, rang reception and someone appeared immediately from the restaurant and asked why I had not said I wanted to order from the Bar! Instruction were to ring Reception. Hotel in need of modernisation, looking a little tired.liz14 February 2009

3.0 star ratingPleasant staff but overworked.Only "smoking" bedroom available. Very unpleasant odour. Room very noisy - could hear everything said and done in adjacent rooms. Kettle malfunctioning, TV not worth having in room. Understaffed bar and restaurant.16 May 2009
3.5 star ratingFor a three star hotel it was acceptable. It todays high tech world free internet connection was very pleasing.Cost of telephone calls was outrageous, the worst that I have ever come across.20 May 2009

3.0 star ratingRoom allocated (Room 236) was excessively hot and inadequately ventilated when we arrived. Did not improve significantly overnight due to limited ventilation allowed. (weather was unseasonably warm)Brittannia Hotel, Newcastle Airport03 June 2009

2.5 star ratingThe room was very hot despite having window open and radiator off. This was due to a heating pipe running round the bottom of the room which is a potential danger to small children. Having the window open all night, when it was less than 5 degrees outside, meant we heard traffic from the nearby busy road and airplanes taking off. The room was outdated, as most of the furniture seemed to be stuck in the 60's. There were stains on carpet and the bed was very hard. The extractor fan in the bathroom also didn't work. The staff were friendly enough but this was the only redeeming factor in an otherwise dissapointing stay. I also find it amusing that they say Taxi to the airport only £3, at first I thought that's cheap, but considering the airport is only 100m away I wouldn't bother.Kenny08 May 2012

2.5 star ratingConvenient walking distance from airport terminal. Pleasant entrance lobby and reception area. Comfortable bed with clean bedding. A few toiletriesHotel cannot be seen from airport so some kind of signage indicating in which direction to walk would be an advantage. Room was clean but scruffy....holes in the curtains, very thin and grey towels, worn carpets, battered and scratched furniture. This hotel is in great need of room renovation overall. Unfortunately I would not chose to stay here again..........sorry!Ex-pat return visit11 August 2014
