4.5 star rating	The location is great. If you are fortunate enough to get one of the five parking spaces it is a bonus. The staff are nice and friendly.	Overall the hotel is old fashioned, a rabbit warren of badly converted rooms. From the outside it looks quite smart but once you step inside it is old and dated. I cannot see how it can go on much longer in its present state. However if it was subject to a revamp its room price would go through the ceiling. The breakfast is very basic and stops being served at 9.30am. It is served in a nice little room next to the pool.		20 December 2008

3.5 star rating	The suite we were given was lovely. Old fashioned charm but clean and spacious and with a view to the seaport.	The morning female clerk was really rude. When a misunderstanding happened, she had to mouth back in a very unpleasant and downright offensive manner. What happened to good old fashioned front desk service? She certainly spoilt my initial impression of the hotel.		31 March 2009

Carpet in bathroom and poor fittings. Breakfasts quite bland and if your staying more than 3 days could be quite tedious. Not worth the rate I payed for it.		12 April 2009

2.0 star rating	The location was excellent.	The room was reminicient of the 1970's. The bathroom not up to 3 star standards. Although cleaned regulary, the 'system' for extracting foul air may have been satisfactory in the 1870's it probubly wasn't good enough for the 1970's and certainly not for 2011. At least the hotel provided an airspray. lThe staff cleaned and made up the beds daily but a duvet would have been appreciated rather than blankets Lighting in the room was quaint but inadequate. 1.0 star rating	Clean Towels Clean Bedding One staff member on reception named Andy!!!	We booked a double room and when we checked in at hotel reception the receptionist suggested we take a twin room instead as the double room was quite small. We went to have a look at it in any case. The room smelt fusty (stale) and the fridge in the room was dirty and had a terrible smell. The common areas were not very clean and the dining area was very very basic - there were lots of damp patches on the ceilings and walls, many of which had flaked and fallen on the floow and clearly had never seen a vacuum cleaner (hoover). It was very evident that the hotel was not being maintained and is just running into a serious state of dis-repair Our bathroom had other peoples hair both in the bath/shower and around the wash hand basin and our carpet was dirty and looked like it had never been vacuumed. This accommodation although rated 3 star (***) is certainly overrated!!! and we would not recommend it to anyone!! When we asked hotel reception about tourist attractions they were so unhelpful and pointed us to the table of brochures - but were not willing to talk to us - a very dismissive attitude. On checking out - we went to reception to book a taxi to take us to the airport but the receptionist (again very dismissive) said there were no taxis and informed us that the man who checked out before us had to walk!! At this stage I asked for the manager! He came and I explained we needed a taxi to the airport and he simply said - there is noting we can do - the taxis are fully booked!! he was not interested in helping us and this demonstrated to us exactly why the hotel was such a dreadful place. Other poeple from Vancover who were on day trip to Morocco with us stayed at the Elliot Hotel - a short walk from the Bristol Hotel. They said their hotel was very good! and that they originally went to book a room in the Bristol Hotel when they arrived in Gib. and decided against it when they walked into the lobby area. They did not like the look of it!! Only we had paid up in advance - we would have left the hotel as well!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!!! That hotel needs a serious overhawl and the staff and management need to be trained in customer service and basic hygine!!!	Never-Again	21 March 2011

5.0 star rating	Excellent reception and lovely hotel in a surprisingly quiet location next door to the main shopping area. I can't understand why people have written bad reviews, i suggest they keep their negative opinions to themselves as we suspect snobbery on their part. We had a fantastic stay, the staff were massively accommodating and changed our room status upon request and without further charge. We will be going back again. I recommend this hotel to anyone. 2.5 star rating	Good location	There was a fridge in the room but no kettle or facilities to make yourself a cup of tea, the only facilities were drinks machines inthe downstairs lobby. 4.0 star rating	Best price in Gibraltar, yes the hotel feels very dated and needs a refurb as soon as possible, but the rooms are clean and fuctional. Wouldnt choose to stay here for a week but it was ideal for a three night stay. The pool area was clean and tidy, the prices at the bar were very reasonable, no rip offs here. Very good location, close to Main street, and about 10 mins walk to the Cable car station.	The bar closed at 2pm and did not open again until the next shift started at 5pm. 4.0 star rating	After reading some of the reviews for this hotel I had low expectations so was very pleased when I arrived! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel location was perfect and room was basic but what we needed. This was the cheapest hotel in Gibraltar so is good value for money especially as there is a pool. 3.5 star rating	I made sure I read all the reviews on this hotel before booking so I was under no illusion that this was going to be a 5 star establishment. The Staff were really friendly, the location was perfect and the room was clean, functional and fit for purpose. So what if the shower had all the pressure of a sneezing kitten, or the Hotel bar was on the next street (with a nice Swimming pool and more friendly staff). For a 3 day trip it was absolutely fine.. 3.0 star rating	The staff were friendly	Parking is a huge issue, there is only roadside parking. We arrived early before 10am and we were told that we could not get into our room until 1pm . That seemed fair as we appreciate that the rooms have to be cleaned. In the morning we asked if we could check out at 12.30 as we were getting married at 11.30am and wanted to quickly change our clothes before checking out. It was then that the we were told that check out time was 12 noon and check in time was 12noon. When we arrived back at the hotel at 11.55am the receptionist informed us the next guests had arrived. 4.0 star rating	Brilliant location as its within walking distance of the airport and two access points to the Rock itself takes about 20 minutes at a relaxed pace with luggage. A nice pool set aside from the main building with a small bar. Easy access to main streets for cares/bars etc. Very helpful staff and a friendly greeting.
