2.5 star ratingThere was no one at the check-in when we arrived - after searching for a staff member for about 5 to 10 min we finally check-in and were upgraded, only to find out that the upgraded room was a twin and not a double as originally booked - we asked to change to a double and were dowgraded (to be honnest the downgraded room was better than the upgrade!). It took over 20 min for the staff to get us a new room. The staff really couldn't bother. In the morning, we realised that the breakfast was served in a different building than the hotel itself. 8am, walking under heavy rain to go for breakfast is not a good start to the day. The breakfast room and food quality reminded me of my school diners! 25 January 2011

2.5 star ratingComplained about the very loud music coming from one of the adjacent hotels, woke me up both nights. On the second night I phoned to request music turned down, the male I spoke to advised he would speak with the duty manager and that there had been a lot of complaints received. I then had to phone back half an hour later as there had been no change to level of the sound of the music, on this phone call I was advised that I was speaking to the duty manager I enquired as to why you do not have a sound countrol that would cut out the music if it got to a certain level and that the councils environmental health should be made aware of this, the duty manager was not aware of this. I stated that I would not be happy to be paying for both nights when both nights had been disturbed. When checking out on the Friday I went to the Highlands hotel and spoke to the female receptionist about the issues that I had encountered, she stated that she could not believe that I could hear the music from the Four Seasons which I ensured her I obviously could and that I wished to speak to someone about it. She then phoned the duty manager, who I could see was speaking to another guest, and her answer was to deduct my bar bill obviously she did not want to discuss the matter with me direct. I feel this is total lack of customer service especially from a company of your size and stature. I feel that further compensation should have been granted as a matter of course.07 October 2012
