Hotel Information

This unique, floating hotel is situated aboard a boat in the centre of Amsterdam on the river Ij, right next to the former NDSM shipyard and close to several attractions. There is a complimentary ferry connection to the Central Station, from where there are direct connections to Schiphol International Airport. The non-smoking hotel offers a bar with pool billiard and darts, there is a bike and car rental.

2.5 star ratingstaff very polite and friendlyThe lower floors had a smell of dirty water/drains in the rooms. Had to ask to be moved. The showers were dirty with mould on the tiles. The standard of the rooms was poor, and the decor was very dated. The location of the hotel has been moved since our last visit, and has to be reached by a 15 minute ferry ride. The transport is free, but returning to the hotel at night was very time consuming. The last direct ferry is at 0045. After this time it is necessary to get a ferry and shuttle bus to return to the hotel, but this involves a long walk to the ferry terminal as the short cut through the train station closes. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a city break.26 September 2008

4.5 star ratingStayed for 3 nights in Feb 2009, very warm welcome from professional staff. Hotel moored on a busy working waterway, with a submarine at one side and Greenpeace Sirius bost at the other- all added to the unusual nature of the hotel!! The free ferry services from central station to the hotel were safe, quick and regular. Would definately recommend to friends- many thanks for a very enjoyable stay!!27 February 2009

2.5 star ratingThe hotel was easy to get to by ferry and ferry and bus at night (although rather than a video printable instructions with a map would make finding the ferry easier). Sightseeing in Amsterdam and the surrounding area is easy as the ferry terminal is behind the central station. The boats location is quiet with no shops nearby and one cafe/bar. I liked finding swans and ducks swimming outside my bedroom window in the morning.The hotel was purpose built but the rooms are now looking a bit tired. Enjoy the journey01 September 2009

4.0 star ratingVery good value for money. Enjoyed the FREE ferry trips. The late night miny bus service worked perfectly. Met a lovely woman in the hotel (another guest). Just like staying in the centre of Amsterdam apart from the ferrys. Only 10 min's. and run every 1/2 hr..and drop you right next door to the 'Botel' The onsuite facilities are not vast but adequate. Nice views from the upper floors. Enjoyed the bar, loads of other people to talk to. Would book it again without hesitation.The lowest floor shower room smelt of drains so i moved up to the top deck for the next few days.Christopher S.26 September 2009
4.5 star ratingThe guy at reception was polite and friendly, he changed our room for us because we wanted a view of the submarine. The room was very quiet and peaceful. The ferry to the station is very close to the hotel. The bed was very comfortable. 4.0 star ratingAlthough not central the free ferry and free late bus make this an ideal budget location. Room was very clean as was rest of the hotel. 4.5 star ratingHatte erst zweifel zu buchen auf grund einiger bewertung aber ich war sehr sehr positiv überrascht das zimmer ist sauber gewesen wurde auch täglich gereinigt der raum war nicht sehr groß aber man kann auch nichts größeres erwarten auf nem hotel schiff aber denoch hat es voll kommen gereicht heizung konnte man selber einstellen toilette war etwas kleiner aber in ordnung auch die dusche war ok das frühstück war das einzigste was etwas üpiger hätte ausfallen können aber war auch in ordnung vorallem hat man ein schönen blick aufs wasser das personal war wirklich sehr freundlich man sollte aber mind. ein wenig englisch können da eigentlich die ganze stadt auf englisch eingestellt ist allso mit deutsch brauch man denen nicht kommen ;) dazu gab es noch direkt beim hotel ein boot welches alle halbe stunde und in der woche auch zwischenzeitlich alle 15 stunde fährt (dauer der überfahrt ca. 10min) und es gibt den nachtshuttle bus vom hotel alles gratis und das parken ist beim hotel auch gratis sofern man mit auto kommt hat es auf jedenfall ein vorteil da amsterdam sehr teuer ist vom parken auch einige andere hotels nehme ordentlich gebühren naja alles im allen kann ich es nur empfehlen und hotelopia kann ich auch nur empfehlen habe bei hotelopia das beste angebot gefunden habe für 2personen 3 übernachtungen mit frühstück 159€ beszahlt - 8% gutschein ca. 150,00 bezahlt sprich 25€ die nacht pro person selbst in den hostels bezahlt man das 3 fache und hat nicht so ein comfort wie eigenes wc bin wirklich zufrieden hoffe die bewertung konnte jemanden helfen und entschuldigt die fehlenden satzzeichen etc.eigentlich nichts das frühstück könnte vielfälltiger sein aber trotzdem voll kommen ausreichend mr. nice22 December 2011
3.0 star ratingParkplatzsituation super, obwohl ziemlich düstere Gegend irgendwo im Industriegebiet. Kostenloser Transfer zum Hbf. Zum Übernachten eigentlich super! Das im Preis enthaltene Frühstück war gut.Extremst dünne Wände. Hatten ein Liebespärchen als Nachbarn ^^. Extremst unfreundliche Dame an der Rezeption beim Einchecken. Dusche eklatant. Man duscht im Grunde auf einer winzigen Toilette. Für Familien mit Kids ist das Hotel äußerst abzuraten.VovaPoker19 December 2011

4.0 star ratingParkmöglichkeit vor dem Hotel! Ausreichend großes Zimmer, mit Fernseher und ein Paar deutschen Sendern. Waren positiv überrascht. Heizung funktioniert sofort, war auch nötig, da das Außenfenster wenig bis gar nicht isoliert. Aber mit Fantasie konnten wir einen "Zugluftschutz" bauen (Vorhang, Taschen, Decke). Das "Bad" war auch in Ordnung. Nicht groß, aber groß genug zum Duschen. Handtücher wurden täglich gewechselt. Insgesamt war es im Hotel sehr ruhig, man konnte nachts gut schlafen und auch im Frühstücksraum gab es genug Platz für alle Parteien. Leider kein Fön im Zimmer. Frühstück ist gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber okay. Englisches Frühstück eben. Richtige Brötchen wären schön. juli13 March 2012
4.5 star ratingstaff were so helpful and pleasant, room was bigger than expected, clean and good value for money. when arriving at amsterdam centraaal station use exit at back of station dont go out front towards the trams etc walk forward and to the left where u will find the free ferry to the botel, we paid 20 euro for a taxi as we could not find the ferry port. ferry is furthest left normally 2 are there.The smiths19 February 2012

3.5 star ratingSauber und kein Schimmel, trotz der Nähe zum Wasser. Gutes Preis / Leistungsverhältnis. Insgesamt finde ich das Hotel in Ordnung für 1-3 Nächte. Kleinigkeiten wie Wasserdruck schwankend / Waschbeckenabfluss läuft schlecht ab / Frühstück etwas mager / Rezeption ist nicht die beste / Zimmer relativ klein / usw Dennoch sind das nur Kleinigkeiten, keine groben Mängel Illi04 May 2012
4.5 star ratingVom Hotel aus sind es 3min Fußweg zu der Fähre, mit der man 24h lang, kostenlos(!) in die Stadt und wieder zurück kommt. Die Fahrzeit beträgt ca. 10min. Perfekt für einen Kurzurlaub zur Stadtbesichtigung, da man mit der Fähre zentral in die Stadt kommt und die Übernachtung Verhältnisweise unglaublich günstig ist ! Auch das Frühstück ist durchaus gut.Man sollte keine Probleme damit haben, dass das Schiff durchaus etwas schwankt ! Wobei man beim schlafen kaum noch was merkt. 4.0 star ratingOptimale Lage, kostenlose Fähre fährt (ca. 15 Minuten) ca. alle 25 Minuten zur Zentralstation Amsterdam (HBF-Bahnhof) und zurück (auch Nachts, spät Nachts mit Shuttle-Bus), von wo aus sich die Stadt dem Besucher öffnet. Ausreichend kostenlose Parkplätze ca. 400 Meter vom Hotelschiff entfernt. Restaurants ganz nah. Zimmer sehr sauber, aber recht hellhörig. Natürlich einfach ausgestattet,kleines Bad mit schöner heißen Dusche. Betten sind sehr gut. Nachts total ruhig. Fernseher mit deutschen Sendern. Frühstück einfach aber o.k. ! Personal sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Bar an Bord. Nächstes Mal sind wir definitiv wieder da...Thorsi16 July 2013

4.5 star ratingcheap and cheerful quirky hotel added to the experience of Amsterdam and the ferries are regular and there is a lovely restauraunt 1 minute walk so if its its cold you can grab a coffe and watch the ferry come in before you head off . I enjoyed my stay here there was a really loud banking noise that woke us at 4am and then again at 8am on one of our nights it was quite scary as the boat was vibrating and rocking an again at 8am just for one night of our stay . also the queue were told whilst queing for breakfast to 'leave some for other people as there was a ten minute wait for more food '!! badly laid out very small food bain marie with cups at one side of bain marie and coffee machine at other angi 14 November 2016

3.5 star ratingThe location is good. The staff has positive attitude. The idea of sleeping on a boat is nice. The cost is agreeable.The man in the next room was snoring, we listened to him all the night. The guy upstairs dropped something on the floor around midnight, we jumped out of the bed thinking a canon is fired on us. They should do something about the noise. The flow of the hot water was diminishing in a few seconds after, however you adjust the tap. As if they do not want us to use to much hot water.Anonymous 09 May 2016
