3.5 star ratingThe food was excellent as were the restaurant staff. The room was very 'tired' and in need of a refurb. The bar was not well stocked. I selected two cocktails from the menu but couldn't get either as they didn't have the necessary ingredients! The pool was poorly lit and the ladies changing area was littered with dirty towels and spilled make up.Disappointed dame!19 February 2013
4.0 star ratingVery friendly and helpful staff, the room was very comfortable and clean. The changing room was very wet underfoot, need to ensure more frequent drying, it lets down what are very good facilities. The decor in the stairs of the castle was very scuffed and tired looking, needs to be attended to. JCF 16 March 2013
3.0 star ratingThe only positives we had were the staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very good.Room was filthy, walls covered in marks and carpet looked very old and tired, shower screen wasn't fixed properly so just swung freely when in the shower covering the bathroom floor with water. Bathroom door kept banging against the toilet every time it was opened. Walls were paper thin so we were actually able to hear the people next door speaking and also running their bath!!! Fire alarm went off for about 10 seconds at 6am but we weren't evacuated. We will not be staying at Airth castle again.02 April 2013
4.0 star ratingStaff well trained, professional and attentive. Good sized rooms with quality bedding and towels. Later check outs on request. Nice atmosphere.Wooden furniture in rooms showing signs of wear and tear. Some tables in lounge tatty and torn (leather parts). Could have been warmer in lounge and restaurant - had to return to room for some extra clothing layers. Other guests sitting with coats on or around shoulders. No feedback after "complaining " about starter course - mussels - very strange salty flavour and not at all pleasant. Barclay05 April 2013
4.0 star ratingWebsite shows lovely Airth Castle, however, rooms and services were located in a MUCH newer building. Rooms were clean, if a bit 'tired'. Service and staff fine, cost reasonable. Setting and location very pretty.22 May 2013

3.0 star ratingRoom was extremely unwelcoming. Very sparse, no sign of any tea-making facilities out or literature about hotel or attractions of area. Room definitely needs updating and 'warming'up.27 May 2013
4.0 star ratingRestaurant food was superb. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Atmosphere was very relaxing. Visited this hotel a couple of years back and felt some of the decor and furniture was starting to look a bit tired looking. A bit of a refresh would bring the overall feel and quality of the hotel up in value. 04 June 2013
4.5 star ratingVery friendly helpful staff, beautiful setting, satisfactory room and very good value for money.Room overly warm, room service not available after 9.30pm.MrsJ17 June 2013
2.5 star ratingThe staff were friendly, food good.Worn carpets, chipped furniture, bedroom looked out to an overgrown not what we expected from this hotel. would not recommend this hotel to anyway05 June 2013
1.5 star ratingNice areaRoom was badly maintained Booked a castle room and they placed us at the hotel lodge and refused to change booking Food and drink were overly expensive Staff were rude and unhelpful Headboard fell out of the wall in the middle of the night Late check in time Early check out time 26 June 2013
4.0 star ratinggreat staff , hotel lovely ,good food ,great facilities. The room was very clean and your domestic staff are a credit to the hotelthe room was tired and needed a paint , new bed linen and some maintenance this would not stop us returning but we heard every part of our neighbours conversation due to the very thin walls and that would prevent us from returning. we were unable to sleep due to the noise ,the room was very stuffy and the window did not open very wide . harold07 July 2013
2.5 star ratingThe main hotel was very nice, we were there for a wedding which we thoroughly enjoyed. On entering our room the first thing we noticed were the stains on the sofa room 120. The room was very hot we could not leave the window open as we were on the ground floor. The corner of the shower unit could have been cleaner.RB05 August 2013
2.5 star ratingFood is okay of average quality and fairly priced. Do not be fooled the castle has few rooms so expect to stay in a building situated round the side of the castle. These rooms require major refurbishment and hotel generally needs a good clean. On arrival hallways where littered with dirty dishes from rooms and some rooms not even ready by 4.30 pm. Staff seem worn out and not the most welcoming. Reception quite frosty we where attending a wedding and had evening gathering the night before which reception had no idea about and where not interested in getting the required information. Our room had holes in the linen and hair all over the shower. Be warned if gettting married there ask to see rooms out with the castle as you may have some very disappointed guests. This hotel generally lacks the basic quality you would expect when paying over £100 per night even in the bar area light bulbs out. Dinner waiting staff seem to huddle round the till rather than be pro active on the restaurant floor.12 September 2013
4.0 star ratingWe booked well in advance and rate was good and the breakfast was fabulous. I would recommend the hotel for quality of food and price. Very comfortable bed. Staff could not do enough - would I go back - Yes - they do some pretty fab offiers.Quite a old feel to the room and decor but i understand this is a scottish feel to is but feels very dated. Some of the shared areas looked to need a good clearn - like ladies toilets.24 September 2013
5.0 star ratingVery spacious, clean room with comfortable beds and super power shower. Staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful despite two weddings being on. Beautiful, well kept grounds and the hotel itself had a lovely decor and was tidy and clean. We didn't have time to use the spa facilities but we enjoyed our stay so much that we'll be back and look forward to a pampering session then! Anonymous 25 June 2014
4.0 star ratingMy husband and myself were at a wedding in the hotel great day from start to finish food was excellent and staff were very pleasent .Hotel room was a little dated and could be doing with a make over Anonymous 29 September 2015
3.0 star ratingGreat place to have a function. Spa facilities are of a good quality. Annexe rooms are mostly of a high standard. Staff are very professional. My castle room should not have been let out as in a bad state. No doors on wardrobe - very poor fold down single bed - decor in bad state - main light didn't even work. Reception area seating looks as if it's in mid restoration whilst being used. Very poor castle room29 May 2016
4.0 star ratingThe restraunt served excellent food and the staff were very accomadating, the reception staff in particular couldn't have been more help full and the spa was good. The first room we were given was clean but tatty and the window had no handle so we were unable to close it. They were unable to move us on the first night so we had to put up with it, however they moved us next day to a much better room and we were given a three course dinner for our troubles.Anonymous 19 August 2016
