Set amongst a coconut grove bordering the seafront, this luxurious boutique hotel makes an ideal base for a relaxing get-away on the island of Mauritius. The surrounding area features a wide range of leisure activities, including golf, diving and big-game fishing. The hotel has windsurfing boards and a number of boats available for guests' use, and kite-surfing classes can be arranged with advanced notice. The hotel has three restaurant options, one on-site, one on-board a historic motorboat and one located in the ruins of the old governor's house on Flat Island, a short boat ride away. Breakfast is provided, and guests can enjoy a delicious complimentary afternoon tea. The guest accommodation comprises 30 rooms and six suites, some less than ten metres from the sea. The rooms are stylishly furnished, and have a terrace, bathroom, air-conditioning and free Wi-Fi.

5.0 star ratingI cannot praise this fabulous small hotel highly enough. The setting is absolutely stunning, the staff are unfailingly friendly,courteous and genuinely pleased to help and the food was fabulous. We stayed in two rooms (the very smallest and the largest suite) and the design and decor in both was lovely; very relaxed but luxurious. The staff have that rare quality of really appearing to enjoy their work and add to the 5star feel of the hotel by addressing you by name (an advantage of having only 34 rooms!) we opted for half board and I would recommend this option. This is not the repetitive dinner buffet we've experienced before in Mauritius but a full a la carte menu service (one or two dishes have a supplement of a few pounds). It's a measure of how seriously the food is taken that when we were there the chef returned from a sushi course he'd attended in Japan. The hotel has a vintage motor yacht on which up to 8 people can enjoy a romantic evening cruise and lobster dinner. Unfortunately for us the boat had a technical problem but so as not to disappoint us the Concierge organised a crew a chef and a waiter on the owners beautiful catamaran for just my wife and I - that's what you call customer service!!! Finally I would recommend the hotels day cruise to Flat island- not only a lovely day out but they have exclusive use of a beautiful beach and have a full restaurant set up in the ruins of the old Governors house for your seafood lunch!!
