3.5 star ratingIt is convenient to the airport, inexpensive, has parking (useful to me as I usually have a car delivered to the hotel the day of my arrival. I get the keys with no fuss about half the time, but always manage to procure them). Restaurant is basically Mexican, OK if not great. I have used the Hacienda satisfactorily for 20 years, will likely continue to do so, on arrival in LA, and the night before departure. Not a hotel I'd stay in more than one night at a time, though. The bell staff is very good, and the airport shuttle fine, every 15-20 minutes 24/24.Reservation was not recognized, had to get out my portable computer and show that the reservation was made, and paid for. They tried to get me to pay a higher rate, and when I mentioned that I'd stayed there twelve days earlier, they insisted that I had been a no-show a day earlier, denied that I'd been there. A frustrating arrival on 21 August, let us say. I have used this hotel for more than twenty years, yet remain unknown to them, given little consideration. But it is a good deal, convenient and when things go right, worth knowing about.25 August 2013
5.0 star ratingWe think this hotel is a find. We prefer it to some of the glitzier airport hotels where you must tip every time you do anything and it takes a major procedure to order your car - pay $30.00 each time and plus the tip. Here we just walk 100 feet to the parking lot next door and get our own, just $8 a night. The lobby area is lovely, and we enjoyed the restaurant, as well as the dancing lessons they present every single night! It has a much homeier feel and the price was definitely right. The bathroom was bigger than usual and you could actually take a real bath in the bathtub. The shower was a cut above. No big slabs of granite, but more well designed, and actual hooks on the doors. Everybody we met was really nice and has worked there for many years - a good sign. A good feel to the place.There were a few minor problems - lightbulbs burned out (corrected immediately), major light on a timer that was set for too short intervals. Only thing not corrected during our 6 night stay was the dripping hot water faucet in room `1481 - we'll try again. Please fix it - I'm a fan of the Owens River and hate to see it wasted like that.22 August 2013
